This hotel and the center in which it is located were probably something more at one time than they are today. The hotel has abandoned its restaurant and now the Volt serves as bar as well as breakfast and dining area with a very mundane evening menu. On arrival, after receiving room keys that also operate the elevator, we found... More

I found many of the other reviews too critical of this hotel. For me the location was perfect, the room I had was perfect, the service was a bit slow but really good. I had a wonderful view, got a good night sleep in a very comfortable and quiet room and ate well at or nearby the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Detroit Marriott for the fourth time recently. This is a very nice hotel right on the Detroit River in the Renaissance Center. That is really the key to this hotel. Being in the Renaissance Center, you have access to Andiamo Italian Restaurant, Joe Muer Seafood, Coach Insignia Steakhouse, and 42 Degrees (the hotel... More

The hotel is perfectly located in downtown Detroit. Within the hotel complex there is a large food court with many choices, several banks and even a movie theater. Rooms are appropriate for business travelers (Marriott Rewards members get free wi-fi). The hotel is also connected to the people's mover that loops around a few blocks of downtown Detroit. Greektown is... More

My stay at the Detroit Marriott was absolutely amazing. No complaints at all. I will definitely stay again and again. The customer service was the best. Angela Basley helped us. She showed nothing but great hospitality and was very eager to assist. Great place, especially when you have people like her working!!!

For the price, this hotel is nothing special. My room on the concierge floor was clean and quiet but the quality was average. The concierge club had several dirty tables and dishes and I had to bus a table myself to have a place to sit. Breakfast presentation had a lot to be desired. The area was messy and the... More

The view made up for the subpar service. I could have sat looking out the window the whole night. Spectacular! We registered 4 guests and only had towels for 3. Called down to the front desk and the phone was unanswered. Tried again and it just rang and rang. Not accustomed to this type of service from a Marriott. Checking... More

If you are staying here, put on your walking shoes. It is a very large property, with a lot to see. It is located on the river and is GMs HQ. Lots of GM pictures throughout the hotel, vintage pictures and new model cars on the 1st floor. The rooms are nicely appointed, comfortable. The bathrooms are very small but... More

Hello Adam and thank you so very much for choosing to stay with us on your recent visit to the Motor City. We love seeing the glowing five stars. Walking shoes are right!! From the moment we pulled up to the valet parking, we were treated like royalty. Everyone was attentive and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and we had a beautiful view of the river and the Ambassador Bridge. We dined at Coach Insignia which was outstanding. We ordered breakfast the night before which arrived on time, hot, and cooked to... More

We spent one night here during what was some kind of small media expo comicon. Tons of costumed guests joined us for our very limited stay. Room was comfortable with an amazing view. Starbucks in the lobby was great and no one was awake around 9 am when we ventured down from our 42nd floor. Only complaint was that beds... More
