Stayed in Detroit for one night for a concert at Joe Louis Arena. Great hotel within walking distance to the arena or a quick trip on the People Mover. Nice, newly renovated rooms, clean rooms with good views. For the money you really can't beat it. Word to the wise: If you're out late/early - Eat before 3:00am. Nothing delivers... More

This Complex is Gigantic. A bit complicated to manuver until you get the hang of it. It may take a couple if days to acclimate. The Marriott Renaissance is a very pricey hotel. It is massive in size. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The views are outstanding. The two restaurants are excellent. One being "The Volt" downstairs, and... More

We visit Detroit about once a year, and always stay here. The service is exceptional and personal, and we always feel welcome. We asked for, and got, rooms with wonderful river views. The rooms are all being renovated at the moment, and we got new ones. They were very comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished. The only odd thing was that the... More

this was the worst time I have ever had at this particular Marriott. to start off we stayed on the 30th floor, and 90% of the rooms never got cleaned, nor did they leave any clean towels. I have traveled all over the U.S and stayed at Marriott. I called downstairs and asked if the room was going to be... More

We stayed here due to dance competition/convention. Room was decent and I see they're renovating. We got a room that was not updated but the people we were traveling with had an updated room. Much nicer than ours. Views from rooms really nice. No pool. Not really a deal breaker for me but when you're traveling with kids it's what... More

On the second leg of a business trip, I was relieved to arrive at the Marriott Renaissance. It reminded me why I love Marriott. The room was spacious and lovely, with stunning views. It had everything I needed -- from an ironing board, blow dryer, closet, fully functioning wi-fi -- all that was lacking from the hotel I had stayed... More

Stayed one night in April, king room, 27th floor. Nice hotel, very good service and friendly staff. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Lots of choice once you figure out how to navigate your way around the Ren Center; bars, restaurants and shops all inside and easily accessible. Getting around to other downtown attractions is... This hotel is well located with excellent amenities. Over the years, it had become tired but that is now changing. I recently stayed on the newly renovated 56th floor and what a difference. Modern, tasteful and will age well. The staff are as friendly as ever and with the renovation, it is back on my list.

Staying here for IB workshops, along with a couple of hundred other people. Rooms have good views, either to downtown or (in my case) the Canadian side. Room has a few signs of wear but super comfortable bed. Nice linen, though the bottom sheet only just fits, so by morning it's usually come loose. Room service has good menu and... More
