I last stayed at the Rencen 10 years ago, it was a Westin. Now a Marriot, the hotel lobby, guest service and atmosphere has changed for the better. My room view was astounding, floor to ceiling window, view of the water and the bridge. I was there with a group of about 2,500 people, if I told you my discount... more

I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel, and I can not wait to go on another vacation. From now on wherever I go, I will stay at the Marriot. more

Our musical convention group used this hotel. Rooms OK - 42 North restaurant has good food and service - terrible vibes, however, with trashy music being piped in 24/7. Same junk is piped in on 3rd floor check-in area and in 1st floor transit area. Hot water failed to work in room - was not fixed after complaints. Recommended but... more

Front desk staff and concierge very helpful. Great location and view. Stayed on the 42nd floor. The Volt bar in the lobby is convenient. Our bartender Thursday and Friday did a great job despite being understaffed. We stayed two nights and some of our family stayed four nights in order to attend a burial service in Detroit. Would have given... more

If you visit the Renaissance Center on a weekend, be aware that the stores and some restaurants will be closed. It is very much a business hotel, and was practically deserted the weekend we spent there. The room itself was great, with a very comfortable bed, and nice view. The service was satisfactory. It was very confusing to get around,... more

We stayed the night of June 13 to attend the Red Bull Air race. The hotel is directly on the riverfront and the ticketed area we were in was right in front of the hotel. The hotel is huge and located in the center of several towers all set in a circular pattern making getting around a bit confusing at... more

DH and I stayed at this hotel for one night during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Used our points for a "free"stay. This hotel is adjacent to the GM HQ building and about 3 blocks from Greektown Casino. We were on the 60th floor of ovetr 70 floors. Nice view. GREAT bed. Very clean. Would stay here again for sure! more

My husband and I stayed at the Ren Cen for a family wedding. The location was very central, and being on the river was nice. The room size was adequate, but the bathroom was small in comparison. Although relatively clean, it was clear that the hotel is due for a renovation soon. The room and the hallways definitely show signs... more

I'm writing this from my room in the hotel, it's old and tired! I checked in yesterday evening at around midnight and I couldn't even hear the receptionist because of rowdy sports fans. I can't get any laundry done because it's Sunday, which is probably one of the worst things that can happen on a business trip. and the restaurants... more

I had requested a higher floor when I first placed the reservation, and I also requested the same when the hotel sent me a reminder the week before my stay; however, when I checked in (on time, not late check-in), the front desk representative gave me a room in the low-rise building. I was disappointed at all the attempt they... more
