Maybe I am spoiled because I have had the honor of traveling to marriott's all over the world and this one just didn't have the same finesse a Marriott normally has. The rooms were good, but service was a little off, I will admit is was a super busy night when we checked in, both the Tigers were playing and... More

Nice place to stay but a little pricy for what you get which is a standard room. What makes it nice is the location and the restaurants/shops/riverfront that you have easy access to. The price they charge is similar to what I have paid for the JW Marriott Hotels which are much nicer.

Detroit needs some 5 star hotels. That being said The Detroit Marriott was very comfortable as you would expect from a Marriott. It is big and could use a redo, It's starting to show it's age. In Detroit you really only have 3 choices downtown. The Marriott, The Book Cadilac and the Doubletree. I am not one to stay at... More

Stayed here for an entire week. The rooms and view, whether river or city are wonderful. The layout is really odd and hard to get around. Key is to stay off the second floor. There is no access to elevator. Overall like the place but only for conferences

The Marriott at the "RenCen" as some locals call it, overlooks the wide Detroit River that separates the US from Canada. An area of concrete steps on the river side is a popular place for viewing Windsor, Canada, with its Caesar's Casino, and watching the ships pass by. Andiamo's Italian Restaurant has a small outdoor seating area and provides comfortable,... More

This is a huge hotel, which caters to conferences and conventions. I stayed for three nights in connection with a conference. All the rooms are the same. I stayed in a "concierge level" room, which is the same as all the other rooms except that you have access to the lounge, which serves a nice breakfast and has a cocktail... More

Just stayed 2 nights as a Gold, my second stay. I agree with the comment that this is one of the best lounges in the US. Better than any Marriott lounge I've seen, and tops amongst most Sheraton and Hyatt lounges. First time I had a nice view, good service, on one of the club floors. Valet was/is slow as... More

Ok, I didn't actually sleep here, but I paid for a suite for my daughter's wedding and had a number of out of town family stay here for the wedding. We also had a continental breakfast in the suite the morning after the wedding. First, the views from most roons are spectacular. You could hardly draw my family away from... More

Good location at a reasonable t=rate but it is not as good as your usual Marriots. Mixup in the reservation on their part and yet I am now left to pay a higher rate my last night here. The reservation agent wasnt qualified to do this job. The food is tasty in the restaurants but very slow to come out.... More

The best thing about this hotel is the great location next to Riverwalk boardwalk. It is a biz trip for me, so the next best thing is the room. Clean, quiet, great views of Windsor across the river. Fantastic restaurants within the hotel. I always look forward to coming to this hotel for business.
