I stayed at this hotel in Detroit for the One Direction concert on August 16,2014. The customer service I along with my family received was terrible. We originally booked for a room with 2 queens beds for 4 people. Once arriving to the hotel, we were told that when you book, you are only guaranteed the room and not whats... More

I came with my sister who had a conference at the hotel. I normally book Marriott and was excited to see it as I'm a Marriott Insider and former Insider Steward. We had a room with a gorgeous view of the Detroit River and Canada. The room was on the 55th floor and it was wonderful. Yes it could use... More

This is a good hotel for business trips. Centrally located and walking distance from the Cobo Conference Center. It has all the usual amenities we have come to expect of the Marriott brand. Clean and great service.

Stayed here at the end of a very long business trip. It is located in a river front location as part of the GM tower. Easy to find with sat nab. Check was easy. Room on 56th floor. Room was okay. Bed needs replaced very lumpy mattress and only two pillows???? Air very noisy and almost impossible turn off. The... More

Booked a room with 2 double beds in January. The room was guaranteed. Got to the hotel and all they had was a room with King bed. They said they would bring us a cot. Never brought one up. We called the front desk. No one answered for 20 minutes. Went to the front desk and after waiting an hour... More

We stayed at the Renaissance on 8/16 for the 1D concert. It was myself, a friend and our daughters. After waiting 30 minutes for check in, we were told that that the double queen that we reserved was still being cleaned and they could only offer us a King unless we waited the 1-1.5 for the room to be cleaned.... We went to Detroit for a Tigers game. Booking by phone was a nightmare but checking in was quick and easy. The room appeared clean but when we went to bed and pulled back the top comforter, there was dried blood on the top sheet, and on the bottom sheet. We tried to call down but received no answer despite... More

I take customers to Tiger's games a few times a year and the Renaissance is my usual go to place to stay as we love the modern rooms and beautiful river views along with the easy and safe access to the people mover. My last trip was no exception as the room was clean, modern and the view was spectacular... More

I traveled to Detroit for business and stayed for 2 nights. It was what you would expect from a business hotel connected to a conference center and GM headquarters. The view of the river from the rooms was nice and it was convenient to the people mover, river, and Greektown. The breakfast at the Volt lounge was fine, nothing special.... More

I stayed at this hotel for a conference. The room was very clean and comfortable with nice amenities. Room internet is very expensive but it is available free in lobby. All staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the river and downtown Detroit from most rooms was amazing. There is a food court on the ground floor with many... More
