Visited DTW for the weekend and decided to stay downtown to be close to Ford Field. Joined my wife and daughter for their girls trip for 1D concert. Perfect location for many reasons: walking distance to Ford Field, Comerica Park and Greektown. Also across the street to the Windsor Tunnel access. Service was good despite the fact the hotel was... I have stayed here twice on business, and look forward to coming back. This hotel is located in the heart of Detroit in close proximity to Comerica Park, Ford Field, the Ren Cen, Greektown Casino, Joe Louis Arena, and Cobo Hall. What more could you ask for? The rooms are spacious, the view on the Detroit River side is great,... More

In for a concert at Ford Field with 2 teenagers. Very convenient to get to, just up Brush Street. Front desk person, Tamara, was able to upgrade us (Marriott Rewards) to a much nicer room with beautiful view of the Detroit River and The RemCen. Everything was spotless.

We are very fortunate to have some great entertainers perform in Detroit this summer. Ford Field is a ten minute walk up Brush Street, and beside home to the Detroit Lions, it was the venue for the One Direction concert and the upcoming Rhianna/Eminem concert. We will pass along your spotless compliments to our housekeeping team, and hope to see... More

The closet doors in my room fell off their tracks and knocked me to the ground. The doors were so heavy that they pinned me to the ground.. I reported the incident to the front desk and was later contacted by their Guest Services Manager who asked for more details. I was later contacted by Marriott's claim service. they seemed... More

This was a business trip and stayed 2 nights. Food for the convention was all buffet but had a variety and well presented. They did an excellent job kept the table cleared of unwanted plates when finished with them. The room were clean and comfy. Don't have any complaints. The staff was also friendly. Also, in walking distance of the... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It's well located in downtown Detroit. Hotel staff are great, elevators are fantastic, the pool and exercise rooms are good too. It's right across the river from Windsor. We're Canadian, and as an added bonus we got Rogers cell phone service from our room. Hotel parking is expensive, however there was a... More

Thank you for sharing comments on your nice stay. I didn’t realize Rogers had such a strong signal from across the river in Windsor – a bonus for our Canadian guests! There are several options for self-parking with great rates on the weekends as you noted, including the Millender Garage directly behind the hotel and attached to our building. You... More

We held our family reunion at the Courtyard Marriott Detroit and it was wonderful. The service was great, the food was exceptional and my entire family was highly impressed. The rooms were spacious and clean. The kids enjoyed the pool area and I even took advantage of the fitness center on morning. Our banquet was held in the Skyline room... More

We had the privilege of staying at the Courtyard Marriott in June 2014 and in July 2014. We visited for the purpose of the International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses at Ford Field. I'd like to say that we would be willing to stay at Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Detroit anytime. We had such a wonderful overall experience. The friendliness of... More

Stayed for a work meeting. Rooms clean, nice, had a small fridge, updated. Staff very nice, easy to get in and out, not like the RenCen Marriott, way too big, older furnishing, staff ok. Meeting room was very nice, food very good, service good. Nice views of Detroit, the river, the hotel had a pool, exercise room, outdoor tennis courts....

Dear Sheeeebs, Thank you for the great comments. I see you have contributed with many reviews around Detroit and appreciate your endorsement. All of our rooms have a view of the river but the higher floors (21 stories total) will certainly enhance; east towards Belle Isle and Lake St. Clair or west towards the bridge. We look forward to your... More

During my stay at Courtyard by Marriott in Detroit, Ms. Tamara Money, one of the newly hired clerks, exemplified the epitome of what good customer service should be. She was very courteous and helpful with extra items needed in my room during my stay. Ms. Money made me aware of the complimentary coffee served in the lobby area, thoroughly listened... More

Dear Carolyn, Thank you for your service compliments and sharing your experience with Tamara. I agree she is an asset to our hotel, and we are very fortunate. I also appreciate the piano tip for family reunions. We do provide our lobby piano for functions in the ballroom, but it requires a little notice to arrange tuning after the move.... More
