If you have to stay downtown then your options are very limited. If you do stay at this location be prepared to dine here or drive a good distance to any descent restaurant. Front desk clerks were not overly friendly or helpful. Asked them a few questions about local area and they seemed confused. Room was clean. Jacuzzi was closed... More

Dear Carl, I was sorry to read we didn’t overwhelm you with our service at check-in and swimming pool facilities. With so much to do and so many walkable options to dine downtown (in any direction from the hotel), local area knowledge is a huge priority with our front desk staff. At times we do experience activity spikes in valet,... More

We have been to Detroit for two days. We returned to the Courtyard because we had a certificate due to a bad experience last year. Unfortunately, the same story took place: messy room and air conditioning was not working. They changed our room the second night. This room was a little better, at least it was more temperate than the... More

Dear MagDen, I was sorry to read the disappointing TripAdvisor review following your recent return to our hotel. I recall working with you to resolve similar concerns last summer, and again confirming availability for your recent visit. I’m sorry we did not meet your expectation, and thank you again for the opportunity to accommodate you and your family. Sincerely, Jon... More

My family stayed here after a Tiger's night game. This hotel was comfortable and convenient. The People Mover is right outside if needed. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

So we were there for a family reunion and let me say we were not happy, Check in was easy and when I discovered that we had three pillows on each bed I called to get two extra as there was four of us in the room it took 20 minutes to get these pillows. The whole floor had a... More

The hotel was very nice and comfortable and all of the staff that I encountered (valet parking attendants, front desk, housekeeping & maintenance) were friendly and acknowledged you with a smile. If I were asked what should be changed for me to give an excellent rating, I would say (1) The entrance windows & doors should be cleaned, even if... More

This hotel is excellent by all means. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Its in the middle of the Downtown Detroit area and is connect to the Renaissance Center through a skywalk. My stay at the Courtyard downtown Detroit was one of my best hotel stays yet. The beds were more comfortable than my own at home. I slept like a baby. The rooms were spacious and everything was kept clean. If I return to Detroit I will stay here every time. It is a skywalk away from the Renaissance Center and... More

We only stayed one night but it I loved the view! The room was modern and clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The bonus was the ultra cool bar in the lobby. We were a little nervous because we usually stay at a different hotel when we go downtown but we were definitely impressed. It was also nice... More

Positives: The Detroit PeopleMover literally runs through the hotel building. It's 75 cents and pretty much takes you in a clockwise loop all around downtown. The bed/pillows were comfortable. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The check-in staff was very friendly and gave us a nice river-view/downtown view on the 11th floor. Negatives: Things were a little worn.... More

Thank you for your compliments to our staff and location of the hotel. Your feedback has triggered my curiosity with the People Mover as it passes my office on the fourth floor all day without any distraction. We don’t get many comments on this but I will listen more closely over the next couple weeks as I’m walking the property.... More

The location was very convenient and allowed us to get anywhere around the city. The people mover location at the site was a bonus. However, as other have noted, the air conditioning was poor and it never cooled the room down even after we had maintenance come look at it. The safe was also problematic and would not lock. We...
