Got to the Lodge above Copper Harbor during our trip around Lake Superior. Checked into the front desk and was given a fly swatter without asking for one. The flys in the room and the lodge's dining room were horrendous. Apparently this happens every year for a month or so and we just happened to be there at the right... More

I have stayed at the Lodge a few times and love it each time. The setting is amazing, and only a short distance to Copper Harbor and the beauty of Lake Superior. I have only stayed in the cabins near their golf course. The cabins are great, especially with the big stone fireplaces on a cool, or cold evening. The... More

My husband and I went on a longish camping trip and had decided to stay one night in hotel just so we could shower and reorganize. I had the reservation in advance as I had stayed there some years back but he had never been to the lodge or the western U.P before. We had gotten to Copper Harbor a... More

We traveled to Copper Harbor MI and stayed at Keweenaw Mountain Lodge, reserving a "rustic cabin", which looked quaint and cozy on the website. The cabins are split in duplex style. I was advised the cabins had just been renovated and redecorated. Our cabin appeared to have a relatively new loveseat and chair, but the rest of the furnishings looked... More

This is truly a Inn that has all the charm of early mountain vacation grand days with modern necessities included. We had a charming cabin, fireplace, clean room, clean bathroom, plenty of heat on a frosty evening. The dining room is perfect atmosphere for the mountain "resort", food good, charming bar/lounge, professional staff. We wished we had stayed longer, very... More

Located about as far north in Michigan as you can go, the lodge was built in the 1930's by the WPA. There are about a dozen cabins, one, two or three bedroom, each with a fireplace and living room. Plenty of room to relax with friends and family. There are also a few motel type rooms. No kitchen facilities, but... More

I've stayed at the KML a number of times the past 30 years – and was happy to see, it hasn't changed much (except for the new banquet facility – which blends in perfectly with the old lodge). This time all the cabins were booked so we took a motel room. It was old – in need of redecorating and... More

Showed up in Copper Harobor without reservations..stupid us. A wonderful desk clerk called around and found us 5 cabins at Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. Cabins are rustic and the bedroom furniture and bathroom desperately need updating but we loved it anyway. Had a 1 bedroom cabin...nice sitting area with satellite TV, a double bed and basic bathroom. Beautiful location and the... More

There's really nothing wrong with this place, it's just nothing great; however, there probably aren't many other options any better. We heard about it from the Wall Street Journal, as did some other travelers. I think we were all a little let down, so perhaps my comments may help prepare others. We stayed 2 nights in a 1 BR (duplex)... More

We stayed here for 2 nights with a bunch of friends in the winter. It was a blast. We made a nice big fire inside with the wood that was provided. The beds were comfortable. The place was clean but the bathroom needed to be updated. It was pretty rustic, so if you are looking for a 5 star hotel,... More
