A well maintained historic hotel with a lot of comfort and excellent staff. We stayed in a King Jacuzzi room on the Lake Michigan side which had a nice view of the lake. Our room was so spacious and artistically decorated that we felt like royalty. Our bed was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. We will definitely go... More

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We stayed in a Lake Michigan suite on the 3rd floor at the closest corner of the hotel to Lake Michigan. The view from our balcony was great. As other reviewers have mentioned this is an older property but it has been well maintained overall. It could use a few... More

This was my first stay at a "Stafford" hotel property and I was not all that impressed. I'm sure this was the place to stay back in the 60s, but it needs a complete updating. Our room was clean and bed was comfy and those were the positives. Negatives include a second floor room that was only accessible via a... More

Really enjoy the design, character and history of the place. Earl Young, who also designed the hobbit houses in Charlevoix, designed this beauty. It also has some stunning views from some of the rooms. The rooms themselves may leave a bit to be desired. The furnishings and decor are no longer as charming as the the exterior of the same... This is an older property, but it has been well-maintained. Our Lake Michigan suite offered a queen bed, separate living room with fireplace, kitchenette and balcony. Was roomy enough that we could spread out and relax for our two night stay. In the heart of town, easy to get around from here. Great price ($92 a night during fall foliage... More

We had a nice stay. Room was quiet and clean. View was great. Maybe needs new carpeting but other than that was a great stay and can't wait to go back. Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Hot tub was okay could have been warmer.

We must have stayed in a much older section. Room was tired, but some updating had been done. Included a kitchenette which I did not realize. Kingsize bed was very comfy, 15 year old son slept on sleeper sofa and gave it thumbs up. Room had odd layout but there was a lot of space for three of us. We... More

We stayed in a suite and it was absolutely perfect. Clean and roomy. Had a kitchen with small refrigerator and fireplace (including wood log and matches). We bought some wine at Cherry Republic downtown and we were very pleased to find a bottle opener and wine glasses stocked in our room. Our room faced lake Michigan so we thoroughly enjoyed... More

Just stayed one night in September '14 but wish we would have allotted more time for the Weathervane. Had a 2nd floor room facing Lake Michigan and although we couldn't see the lake, the room including kitchen, comfotable living room with fireplace & 2 flat screen TVs made us feel right at home. Friendly staff provided recommendations for recreation and... More

A long wedding weekend away made better by staying at the Weathervane. It was the perfect location. Local shops, restaurants and bar just outside our door. Beautiful and clean hotel. A little dated but perfect for our weekend. We stayed in a king jacuzzi suite. Bed was firm but not hard. Room was large and clean. Loved having a refrigerator... More
