We stayed at the Lodge in July, the night before we attended a beautiful wedding at Fisherman’s Island State Park, just south of Charlevoix. My room connected to the room where my mom and sister were staying. The Lodge is a landmark, designed by Earl Young, who also designed the nearby mushroom houses and the distinctive Stafford’s Weathervane Restaurant across... More

The room was really large and clean. The down side- the beds were not supportive, there was no hair dryer or ironing board or iron, you could get one at the front desk. There was only one elevator on one side of the building and the stairs were spiral staircases not easy to carry luggage up and down. Breakfast was... More

The Lodge is great for travelers who love a great in-town location, friendly service, clean rooms and a great price. If you want an updated hotel, then this is not for you. We paid a little bit more for a room that had 3 queen beds, with one of the beds being in a separate room with sliding doors. It... More

The rooms were absolutely disgusting. Yes, the staff is nice but I should have known when they asked for the second nights payment before seeing the room at check IN and not at check OUT that I was in trouble.

Sweetest staff I have ever experienced traveling, I felt like I was right at home. Clean, walkable to downtown, and a nice little breakfast provided for the morning! We had a blast here and I will continue to give the Lodge my business for future summers! We LOVE the lodge!

The good -- the location is wonderful, within walking distance of the lots of shops and restaurants. The bad -- place is run down and needs some serious repairs and they need help cleaning the place. The beds are seriously uncomfortable and the bedding needs replacing badly. The ugly -- normally I don't comment on decor because that is a... More

I'm always pleasantly surprised when a motel room opens in both front and back. The rooms have sliding doors to private decks on the back side, and we had a great breeze. The room was very spacious and clean, although everything was dated, mostly in a good mid-century throwback way except for a few minor inconveniences. The main lodge is... More

Our softball families travel to Charlevoix every June to play in the softball tournament there. We would not stay anywhere else. We took a chance in booking reservations at the Lodge having never been in Charlevoix before. Myself and the kids love the throwback and homey feeling we got upon arrival. Being so close to town and the bay was... More

Stayed 1 night. Front desk staff wonderful. Breakfast simple but good. Rooms clean but not updated since being built over 50 years ago, with a couple of exceptions. Musty smell in room-just opened windows for a short tome and odor was gone. Nice view of Round Lake on the rooms that face south. Reasonably priced for the area and and... More
