I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn other potential guests about this seemingly delightful B & B. Big Bay Point Lighthouse is beautifully preserved, and offers an incredible opportunity for guests to have free reign of the tower, including at sunset. The grounds are also lovely, and the view of the lake--including from some of the... More

The drive to Big Bay from Marquette is rather lovely, and I bet it is spectacular in Fall. I wanted to see this lighthouse, now a B&B for many years. There was a man working in the garden near the back of the lighthouse, next to the parking lot. I parked in their small lot, and waited for him to... More

Thank you for your review. I have talked to our gardener about being more responsive to visitors. Our lighthouse has tour times posted as Sundays and Wednesdays at 1 & 2. The rest of the time is reserved for our guests. More

Had a wonderful time. Highly recommend. Food was great. Jeff and Linda were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. Plenty of things to do in the area and the grounds are beautiful if you want to just hang around the Lighthouse. Even got to see a bear!

Don't let the cold nor snow keep you away from this awesome bed and breakfast. It is beautiful! We stayed in the Keeper McDoanld room for two nights. We found the room to be very cozy, clean and appreciated the towel warmer. The innkeepers John and Linda were very nice and understanding when we arrived past check in time due... More

This lighthouse is a beautiful bed and breakfast. I highly recommend a room on the first floor, although we stayed in Asst Beamer's room with the lake view and loved it. We toured all the rooms before people checked in. Get there early to do that! The food for breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Be sure to climb up to... More

In the late 1990's hubby, the kids & I toured the light house on one of the weekly tours. Our kids were young at the time but we wanted to come back to Big Bay some time to stay. Fast forward to 2014, kids are grown, we are empty nesters, we finally get the chance to return to Big Bay... More

We stayed in Keeper Dufrain room and it was great. Large room with 2 windows and gas fireplace. Owners were very nice and breakfast was great. Very quiet and cozy. Would plan trip around this place so we could stay here again!

Very nice accommodations; very clean and well kept. We stayed in the Keeper MacDonald Room, on the main floor and enjoyed views from windows on 3 sides, along with a fireplace, and a very comfortable queen bed. The hosts, Jeff and Linda, were very informative with lots of historic tidbits about the lighthouse and the nearby area. We climbed the... More

We have a penchant for unusual accommodations and this was right up our alley. This is an historic and still operating lighthouse located on Lake Superior. It has been operated as a B&B for quite a while and offers nice accommodations on beautiful grounds with unlimited access to the light tower. We especially enjoyed the living room with its fireplace... More

The lighthouse sits up on a bluff on the shore of Big Bay. It is an old building being built in 1896. The inside is very cozy with a nice commons room, dining room for breakfast and a kitchen with a guest fridge. Our room (Assistant Temple) had a queen bed with a day bed (we had three people). We...
