We did not stay here, but we had dinner at the restaurant -- which is just about the only place in Big Bay, or within 20 miles of there. The dining room is attractive, with hardwood floors -- and the feeling that you experience here is one of a family-style restaurant. Menu is not too extensive, but we both found something that we liked, and it was satisfying. Glad they were there in this remote location. I believe this place was once owned by Henry Ford, as well as a sizable tract of land adjacent to the town.

We went to Big Bay to see and stay at the Big Bay Point Lighthouse, which was a wonderful experience. Would certainly recommend it -- see separate evaluation.

The inn was a welcome relief at the end of a long drive. The food was great - they kept the kitchen open for us past regular hours. The inn was formerly a retreat for Henry Ford of Detroit and his management employees. Our room was very nice, large, and clean. We had a teenage daughter with us so it was perfect that the room had a double bed in one part of the room and a single in what was almost a separate room. There was also a dressing room between the bathroom and sleeping area. Several people apparently experienced a ghost that night, which was very interesting. The accomodation was so nice I would stay there again despite the ghost.
