This was a quick overnight stay for a flight out of Detroit early the next morning. It's a few miles from the airport, but closer hotels were booked probably due to holiday travel. The front door was off it's hinges and supported by a coffee table (broken by the wind)- so a near side door was propped open a bit so that guests could get in and out. Between the two doors not closed, the lobby was very cold. I'm sure this is an unusal event, and it was an unusually cold night- so a very bad combination. The front office worker was very nice. He checked me in quickly despite the fact that I had no reservation. I actually received my wake up call too! The rate was very reasonable- I negotiated $54 rate. so, for $54 one does not have high expectations, and so I was not disappointed. there was not ironing board in the room, so I had to get one from the front desk.
