We realized that we needed to proceed into the resort complex itself to find the Welcome Center where we needed to check in. When we walked in, no one was there. The check-in office has very short office hours. There is NO 24/7 customer service. Even during summer, they close well before you reach there or well before sunset. The... More

WARNING #1: This is not a hotel, not a resort either, only a cottage. As the name suggested. WARNING #2: The staff was rude, inpatient, and irresponsible (See complete story below). WARNING #3: The cottage and its check-in office are on different locations. They are miles apart. Get to the cottage is not enough. WARNING #4: The check-in office has... More

We stayed here instead of paying double or triple the price in Traverse City. With that said you get what you pay for, average hotel room in a great location. You are surrounded by two golf courses and the hotel is on a great property, but you just get a basic room, nothing special at all. Would not stay here... More

We recently stayed at the Legend Cottage Inn in Shanty Creek and absolutely loved the location. It is tucked away in the hills among several beautiful golf resorts. The drive to the hotel was curvy and scenic and I really felt as though I was driving in West Virginia. We first located the hotel but then realized that we needed... More

We booked our room through Hotels.com and received a very reasonable rate for Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. I would recommend arriving while it is still daylight because of the many turn offs along the winding road through the Shanty Creek Resort to arrive at the welcome center. We used our GPS so we easily found the center where we were... More

Quiet, gorgeous grounds. Clean, beautiful room. Lodge, movies, pool, etc. Great restaurants. Would stay here again. Make sure you check in on time, they do not staff check in late. Call ahead and they will leave keys. Consider this place.

We spent a month at a Legend Cottage this summer and loved it. It was a two bedroom unit with good master bedroom/bath that has whirlpool tub. Nice kitchen, living area and small dining. Second bedroom is actually a seperate suite (which can be rented as a unit by itself). We loved the huge porch in the back overlooking the... More

I stay at The Legends Cottages when visiting the Bellaire area. Our deck overlooks the number one fairway and is breathtaking every minute of the day. I have been priveldged to play the course over three summers and it has challenged my game each time. The layout and awesome landscape of each hole enhances this course making it different each...
