We were there the middle week in August, and they were short staffed. The skeleton crew did a good job. The building was being painted so it will be fresh for next season. The room was nice and the bed was VERY comfortable. It is rustic and nice. The only place I would give it lower marks than it needed... More

We stayed 2-nights at the lodge in a standard room with a queen bed. This was our first visit to the island. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful setting of the lodge with its lake views and it's close location (0.5 miles) to town. The lodge has a lovely restaurant connected with patio dining where we enjoyed our first... More

Lodge, close in to ferry. Close to miles of uninhabited dirt roads, sand dunes, deserted beaches and enchanted forest covered lands. Views from the shore of Lake Michigan. Great for hiking, swimming and biking. Quiet, safe and peaceful. Sleep to the open sounds of leaves gently blowing in the winds. You will not hear any cars or people and that... More

Ate here for my wife's birthday in July and we were a party of 12. The Lodge excelled itself on the service and food front. They also have an excellent and well-priced wine list which came as a very welcome surprise. The bar and common parts of the hotel looked great with fantastic views over Lake Michigan. Treat yourself -... More

I get its rustic, no complaints there. I get its woodsy and isolated fine too. But seriously no front desk or any staff for that matter to say, "make sure and bring your own provisions, beach towels (or chairs for that matter), transportation, map, guide and ear plugs because the walls are paper thin", would have been nice to know... If you're looking for some peace and quiet on the north shore of Beaver Island, look no further. We were placed in an upper corner unit, which had amazing views of the lake, as well as the three smaller islands to the north. While the units are indeed dated and could use some upgrades, there's only so much you can... More

We stayed in #7 and it was a great room. It has not been updated in a while but is clean and in great shape. The view here is fantastic and I think you would be hard pressed to find a better place on the island.

Under new management last couple of years. Lodge is not the place it was. Run-down, not terribly clean - carpets for example. Need new bedding and towels. Not particularly friendly or welcoming. No staff on site a lot of the time. What happens if there is an emergency? Service to rooms poor - during a week's stay bathroom not cleaned,... More

Enjoyed our stay here. Room was a nice corner unit with a great view of the Lake. Friendly staff. We would stay again. Had no trouble with cell phones. And found plenty to do on island to entertain us.

I was told that visiting Beaver Island is a lot like going to Mayberry.... and they were correct. Although dated and tired, the Lodge was very peaceful and quiet. Cell service is limited so it's an excellent "excuse" to disconnect. I was very much relaxed during my stay and for the price and the view, I was able to overlook... More
