We went for just an overnight stay, dinner and golf. The Colonial House Inn was just the spot, it is an older inn with a great deal of charm and perfectly located on Mid Cape. Mac our innkeeper is the greatest. He is charming and entertaining and very knowledgeable. The dinner was excellent. Mac suggested the Blue Rock Golf Course,... More

We had a nice long weekend at the Colonial House Inn. People should be kinder about reviewing the Colonial House Inn. The innkeeper, Mac, and his staff went out of their way to make our family feel comfortable. The inn is quaint and maybe it is a little faded but it is a traditional New England house. The house has... More

First weekend of spring away from the snow piles in Newton, MA. Room was comfortable and warm. Breakfast and Dinner were very good. Inn keeper was very hospitable and knowledgeable of the area attractions.

It's sad reading other reviews. I stayed here with friends a little over a year ago. It is definitely as run down as people are saying. What shocks me is looking back at reviews from almost ten years ago and realising it's been run down for this long. In addition to the general filth and decay, the breakfast was horrid... More

I have no idea how ANYONE can say this place is nice or remotely acceptable. I was there in October and found it musty, unkept, neglected and absolutely filthy. What's more is there was no service at the bar. There was laundry and contact solution on the bar though....I would gladly stay at an Econolodge or Red Roof Inn any... More

What a great time. This was our second visit with "Mac" both times the staff made us feel like family, our waiter Sonny was terrific! The food is excellent (try the London broil) the only negative is we didn't have more time for a longer stay!

The Inn is a good stopping point between P Town and the Bourne Bridge. It invites the public for dinner and guest are offered with the price of the room dinner and breakfast. The staff is very pleasant and the fire place in the evening in the dinning room creates a nice warm winter atmosphere. The inn has a small... More

Had a getaway weekend with friends (celebrating my wife's birthday) and booked two places to stay on the Cape. First night was at The Colonial House Inn. Our friends had stayed there 20 years ago and enjoyed it. Not so this time. The owner was pleasant enough at the beginning. He explained the work done on the house and its... More

We arrived at the Colonial House Inn and almost immediately I felt my eyes and face itch. We proceeded to sit at the bar with no one asking us if we wanted anything until we confronted a young girl/staff member who then thought it was odd we were actually seeking some service. The Inn keeper's personal belongings were on the... More

This is a historical house with a lovely new england decor. for those who love the old time homey feel this is certainly a place for you. I enjoyed the breakfast greatly, but the beds werent of the best quality, my roomate had back pain afterwards and really hated the beds. I will admit the beds were soft, but I... More
