We had a lovely overnight in one of the Barnside Suites. It was spacious, comfortable and remarkably well-priced, especially given summer in the Berkshires. Don't miss the delicious breakfast, either.

A friend and I recently stayed at the 1896 House in one of the Barnside Suites. The room was great and Denise and Sue were very accomodating. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and I have to say that it was one of the best omlettes that I have had in awhile! If your travel plans take you to the Berkshires,... More

My fiancé and I like to snowboard and as I was looking for winter weekend getaway options last year I stumbled upon the livingsocial deal for The 1896 House Barnside Inn. The room boasted luxury accomodations, fireplace, jacuzzi, king canopy bed and candelit breakfast, at an affordable price. I thought it would make for a romantic snowboard getaway and booked... More

We stayed at the 1896 House for a three day ski trip and to exchange wedding vows in Bennington. The attention to detail at every level was wonderful, and the staff made our wedding getaway very special. Thank you 1896 House!!

This place is over-the-top wonderful! We will definitely return. We had a Living Social deal that gave us the opportunity to book a luxury suite at a great price. The suite had a king-sized-bed, gas fireplace, and a 2 person Jacuzzi tub. It was soooooo romantic. We also had dinner at their restaurant (also included with the Social Living deal... More

My husband and I just returned from our weekend getaway at the 1896 house. We had a fantastic time and hope to return in the future. I booked our trip through a livingsocial deal. The room was wonderful, very clean and spacious. We stayed in room 202, the turn of the century suite. The fireplace was great and very relaxing,... More

My wife and I just returned from a 4 day stay at "1896" - one of the top 2 B & B's we have stayed in. From the room to the staff everything was top notch. The room was beautiful and very clean - Jacuzzi perfect at the end of a busy day. Breakfast was excellent - like having a... More

My husband and I do a short getaway right after the Holidays, we got a great deal on living social. We had suite 205. We enjoyed the hot tub, cozy king size bed and the quiet. We ate dinner at the pub, great food and service. The front desk lady was very nice she booked a massage for the both... More

My significant other and I are both in our twenties and had never stayed in a suite before since that had always been cost prohibitive. In the past we had enjoyed bed and breakfasts, so when I saw that the Barnside Inn had extremely affordable suites and also provided a fresh cooked breakfast, I could not have been more excited.... We once had a Package called the title of your review! Yes, our Suites are not meant for cooking in. Only Suite 201 (yours) is equipped for reheating leftovers, or having a quick bite. We do however have a 3 Room Apartment with a full kitchen & standard appliances if that is what a guest prefers. Thanks for such a... More

The 1896 House was the perfect choice for our cozy winter getaway. My girlfriend and I were looking for a New England destination to escape to over winter break. We chose the 1896 House because of its location (we were driving up from New York City), proximity to ski resorts, and the great deal available through LivingSocial. Upon arrival, a... More

Yes, it was frigid outside, and we are all glad that you could get cozy! Although we do not have microwaves in most of the Suites, there is one available at Brookside near the office for guests' use. Thank you for painting such an inviting picture of your stay! I think you could write a wonderful novel of your own... More
