We just returned from one night at Pondside Motel. Visiting the area for a son's cross country meet. I had booked one night at the Brookside (had the confimation in hand) but upon arrival I was told they were booked so we went to Pondside. I expected a basic motel room, but this felt a bit subpar. One curtain was... More

I have stayed at the 1896 House's Brookside Inn before, and have never been disappointed. It's a very peaceful setting, and inexpensive as well. Sure, there are fancier hotels out there, but the Brookside Inn has the perfect blend of comfort and luxury without feeling overdone, and that's what keeps me going back when I feel the need to get... The time to be in Williamstown is October, and we were. We splurged on this place, and it was well worth it. Very nice suite -- comfortable sitting area, spacious room, nice bathroom. Very pleasant place to return to after a day in the foliage and museums. Nice feature: breakfast cooked to order in a small dining room for the... More

I can't express how absolutely lovely, restful, and stress releasing these accommodations were. We stayed in room 206 of the Barnside luxury suites. Simply opulent! Clean, beautiful decor, tasteful in both color and comfort. The room is next to the creek. We slept with the windows open and the fireplace on! Not a detail is overlooked from the robes and... More

On a leisurely ride down Route 7, we spotted the 1896 House and stopped to see if they had a room for the night. They did, in the Pond side. I was a little put-off by the "motel style", but ended up being very happy we went for it. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed and very comfortable. We shared... More

We stayed 2 nights in a standard room (one queen bed, stall shower) in the Brookside motel. The rooms are clean, comfortable with plenty of room though dated looking (the TV is new). The bed was very comfortable, the heat worked and there was plenty of hot water (though it takes a few minutes to get going). The rooms are... More

We stayed one night in the Brookside rooms. The room we had was a king bed and was very charming. The 1896 Pub has great food and is just a walk over the brook. A breakfast buffet was offered but we prefer to have breakfast served. Just our choice. It's location is great right near Tanglewood and only about 30... More

My friend and I spent one night here in late August. The staff was friendly and most accommodating and were willing to give a 10% AAA discount. They even changed our Pondide room to a Brookside. Room was clean , comfortable and cozy. Nice grounds. The pub is nice but the food is average.. The breakfast area could be expanded... More

Spent one night here in early August. The rooms were clean and comfortable (though the bathroom was a little small) and the grounds were very pretty. Had some trouble with the lamps when I arrived, but the innkeeper took care of it quickly. Close enough to downtown to make getting to and from the theater very easy, while maintaining a... More

Nice and quiet. Babbling brook; nice outdoors space; good pub just a short walk over the footbridge. Friendly, accommodating staff. We got back late from dinner on the evening of our stay, and dropped in to the pub to check it out. They were very near closing time, but the bartender served us, anyway, and made us feel welcome.
