Let me just say that even our two twenty-something daughters appreciated the simple colonial-era accommodations, the warmth of the proprietors, and the congeniality of the guests. We look forward to an early return!

Dave and Judy Loomis have done an incredible job restoring River Bend Farm to its original 18th century design and detail with style, plus comfort. From the slate lined shower to the crackling fire that waits their guests in the breakfast room, the place and your stay will be unforgettable.

We just had another wonderful stay at River Bend and feel compelled to spread the word. As consistently described in the reviews here, this is a special place. The building and its history are truly unique; there is so much to learn, just by walking from room to room. The inn is beautifully and lovingly restored. The building itself is... More

This is a wonderful place to stay! You can feel how much Judy and David love this house, which they restored themselves (pictures in the library to prove it). Sleep comes easy in the comfortable, tastefully furnished room. Unique, soothing smell of pine greets you in the morning; followed by a tasty home baked breakfast by a crackling fire with... More

History buffs will fall in love with River Bend Farm and its charming hosts, David and Judy. Just returned from a weekend with fellow alums from Williams College, where we enjoyed warm hospitality, comfortable beds, and a delicious breakfast in the original kitchen before a roaring fire. River Bend is especially great for a group looking to take over the... More

Everything about the River Bend Farm was warm and welcoming, from the wonderful hosts, David and Judy Loomis, to the comfortable accommodations and the fresh and delicious breakfast. Talking with David and Judy was like talking to old friends. They obviously love meeting new people and sharing their story. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are traveling... More

My family and I love Williamstown and often visit in the summer to partake in the Williamstown Theater Festival. This is the first time that we stayed at the River Bend Farm and we will definitely stay there again. A wonderful antique home, it has functioned as a B&B for over 30 years so the hosts have everything down pat:... More

This is our fourth visit to this unusual B&B. It is the home of the founder of Williamstown, Benjamin Simonds, and was built around 1770. The Loomis's, David and Judy, two down to earth people, have maintained in in its original form. It is rustic with furnishings of the time on a beautiful and well manicured acreage of land. The... My wife and I stayed at River Bend Farm while on a bicycling trip through New England with seven other cyclists. We really loved the place! On the day we arrived we had biked 50 miles in pouring rain. Our hosts, Dave and Judy Loomis, immediately directed us to hot showers and put our wet clothes in their dryer. The... More

A friend had recommended this place, but I was not prepared for just how lovely and authentic it was. The proprietors are collectors and each room is full of interesting artifacts from the time. Judy and David are very warm and welcoming and eager to share a cup of tea and their home's history with you. It is spotlessly clean,... More
