I recently stayed in the Thorncroft Inn with my husband for two nights. I must admit that given it was high season in Martha's Vineyard, I booked this Inn in a hurry and I did not have as much time to research my accommodation as I normally would. I understood it was a B&B,that it was Victorian by decoration and... More

We have had seven reservations in 2014 requiring a room switch during the stay. With only 8 rooms, it sometimes becomes inevitable. You indicated in your review that you stayed in August of this year but we had no room switches during August. We went back to June 29th & 30th and I believe that I have located your specific... The Thorncroft Inn is a perfect spot for a brief getaway. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon in June and were greeted by innkeeper Karl, who immediately displayed his wonderful sense of humor. We knew we had picked the right place. We had room number 4 -- a beautifully furnished queen room with a private entrance on the side of... More

My new wife and I spent a lovely weekend on Martha's Vineyard staying at the Thorncroft Inn. Karl and his staff took great care of us, right down to the amazing natural wood fire in the fireplace we enjoyed each night in our room. The inn is a conveniently located close to by not too close to the Vineyard Haven... More

Karl and Lynn are an extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable couple who went the extra mile to ensure that our short visit to Martha's Vineyard was an enjoyable one, from the home produced guide to the island to individual advice from Karl. He steered us to a lovely local beach, suggested the best eateries and imparted some of his significant knowledge... More

This more than a hotel. It is a home away from home. We had a Gormet breakfast every day. Our room was beautifully appointed , clean, in a fascinating historic house which is 95'years old. The property is beautifully landscaped and within walking distance to town. Karl and Lynn have been inn keepers for 35 years and should teach a... More

My husband and I spent 4 days on Martha's Vineyard at the Thorncroft Inn. I have stayed at many bread and breakfasts in the past... This one was the best!!! It is located, in a very peaceful setting, in Vineyard Haven. The property is beautifully landscaped, and very well kept. Our room,(and the Inn), was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and... The very welcoming proprietors Karl and Lynn achieved a great balance with their guests, providing top tips, cheerfully answering hundreds of questions and a perfect level of interaction. From the amazing breakfasts to very graciously bringing us tea in the evenings to our very comfortable room, this was a treat. Given we visited in early June we were able to... More

Thorncroft Inn is simply beautiful. I took my parents and it was luxurious yet cozy in a home like way. Perfect for a family getaway. Lynn and Karl were wonderful hosts, dishing out gourmet breakfasts every morning and helping us find the best experiences on the island. Their dinner recommendations were spot on and they helped us find a boat... More

Located just a walk from town, Thorncroft was a cozy place to spend a weekend. The room was comfortable and clean with a match ready fireplace. Karl and Lynn were very helpful giving thoughts and tips about what to see on the island. Breakfast was delicious and ample portions to get you through the day. We enjoyed our weekend stay.

Traveling from West Texas, we searched B & Bs online and decided on the Thorn Croft Inn. The owner, Karl, could not have been more helpful. He helped us decide on appropriate travel arrangements to the island and made suggestions that made our 24 hour experience full of memories! He even upgraded us to a private porch & entrance. We...
