Staff was very friendly and the house and yard was very comfortable and relaxing. Close enough to walk/bike to restaurants, but definitely off the main road in a very quiet serene neighborhood. Lots of birds and animals in the yard, including Turkeys that climb the trees to sleep at night.

I'm a frequent visitor to MV and enjoy staying at the Doctor's House. Returned this year to shake off the winter blues, and it was the retreat I needed. Nice room (recently updated) and the homemade seated breakfast was again delicious. The house and landscaped property is large enough to escape from other guests and create your own secluded spot.... MV is my home away from home and so I've stayed at The Doctor's House at least 10 times, maybe more, in the past 4-5 years. First, location: it is a 5-10 minute walk from the ferry and downtown Vineyard Haven so you definitely don't need to bring your car (unless you have kids, then I'd recommend it). Next: the... More

This property is nice. We stayed in room number 7 which is sizable with a smaller second room attached. Nice comfortable room with vintage decor. Bathroom was also a good size with a large window overlooking the grounds. Shower had 2 heads with great water pressure. Breakfast was consistently good. Now, for the negatives: As mentioned in previous reviews, the... More

lovely place which is a gem; the 'Host' is the most engaging and down to earth lady; very pleasing garden area and the interior is just seducing for relaxing; the breakfast is tastefully prepared - very friendly host and her helper I guess who is a son; would recommend this place to everybody who is seeking peaceful and comfortable place... We had a perfect week in this charming b&b. The Doctor's House is a romantic place to stay and rest a few days. Some of the interior is a bit outdated and the equipment shares the age with the CRT TVs. The breakfast is fresh and outstanding but is only served between 8 and 9. The room was clean when... More

I took a group of 12 employees to the Doctors House this July and it could not have gone better. I was happily surprised to see that every room had their own private bathroom, as that is not always the case with B & B's. That was very important for a large group of women. The staff were amazing. Jilana... More

Here are the main things to know about the Doctor's House B&B: There are no locks on the main front door, or any bedrooms. There are no safe boxes available. So don't stay here if you have any items that you are worried may be stolen. Room 5 is very old fashioned and the bed is uncomfortable, plus there is... More

My partner and I selected this B&B because I had stayed at the Inn about 12 years ago and I felt that he would really enjoy the history of the house and the grounds. My partner is a doctor and what a great fit! Jilana treated us very different from the others, she was unfriendly and rude at time. She... More

He tried to put up a second review a couple of months ago reviewing the same stay and you took that down saying it didn't meet your guidelines. Trying to hurt me again before the season starts is a message in itself. I find being called homophobic 3 times in one review unacceptable. I would say one third of my... More

Nice place for a holiday on Martha's Vineyard. Good location and base for exploring the island. Clean and comfortable rooms with excellent breakfast. Quiet rooms and common sitting areas. Important to book a hire car for the time you're there.
