My wife and I used to dine at the Wayside Inn when we lived in MA some fifteen years ago. We decided to spend two nights during our visit to west Boston last week. The booking process ( on the phone) was simple. The person I spoke to, Sandy Brown, was a pleasure to work with . She is very... More

The Longfellow's Wayside Inn deserves only the best recommendations. I visit New England every fall in late September and have for more than 15 years. I have always included my stay at the Inn as being one of my best memories. It is truly a step back in history, located in natural surroundings just off the Old Boston Post Road.... More

Located on a lovely tree lined street with a grist mill down the road and a lovely chapel too, the Wayside Inn is absolutely worth a visit. Lunched there today with 2 friends. Had a delicious salad for lunch with some fresh and warm hot cider. I have been to the Inn many times and always enjoy the history of... More

We stayed overnight at the Wayside Inn for our anniversary, it was a pleasant stay. The room was comfortable, the bed was great, my wife slept like a baby. We referred to the room as rustic, with what I presume are either antiques or reproductions. We had both dinner and breakfast while there. When seated, they give you Melba toast... More

Two years ago, I stayed at the Fairfield Inn. At the time, the Fairfield was a sister inn to the Wayside Inn, and I had breakfast at the Wayside Inn. I was charmed by the Wayside, so this time, I decided to stay at the Wayside Inn. I was not disappointed. ACCOMODATIONS The room is furnished as I expected for... More

The Wayside Inn is a New England institution. I have dined there a number of times thru the years, most recently a week ago. I give it five stars for its location on what seems like a private lane thru New England's beautiful countryside. Five stars too for its historic building and intriguing smaller dining rooms. But problems lower the... More

We often come here during the week when my husband is craving an exceptional prime rib. The service is efficient without being intrusive and the food is always excellent. The Wayside Inn is a great dining experience and the atmosphere in the Tap Room can't be beat!

had a terrific meal in the colonial dining room. The food and service were both way above average. The menu is varied and the true bargain is the dinner special with soup or salad, entree with two veggies, and a dessert. Be sure and wander the public areas...in the pub you will find Longfellow's desk! One room (upstairs) is open... More

Staying at the Wayside Inn is like falling back in time to the days of George Washington, John Adams and Paul Revere. A well maintained actual colonial site, in operation since before the revolution, and modern recreation that works as a functional Inn and a historical reference in equal measure. The history is real and the comfort is modern and... More

THE WAYSIDE INN One Autumn night, in Sudbury town, Across the meadows bare and brown, The windows of the wayside inn Gleamed red with fire-light through the leaves Of woodbine, hanging from the eaves Their crimson curtains rent and thin. From Tales of the Wayside Inn Henry Wadsworth Longfellow For perhaps the twentieth time we have returned to the Wayside... More
