Just a wonderful place made better by its wonderful hosts, Brian and Kolleen. For the old time details of this mid-19th century building look no further than the faucets in the ground floor toilet. The breakfast is just perfect! Altogether, it is a classy place very much in synch with its location.

We spent a lovely night here, and were very well taken care of. The hosts were very nice and gave us a free upgrade to a larger room on the first floor just because it was available. The breakfast was very special with courses served as in fine dining. The place is very historic, yet very well kept and maintained... More

We stayed at the Federal House over Memorial Day Weekend while attending a nearby wedding. The house is very historical and has a lot of charm. The breakfasts were wonderful, and our hosts were very fiendly and nice to speak with. The grounds were very well kept, and there are nice common rooms to sit and relax in as well.... More

It is our forth time staying at Federal House Inn and first visit in the winter. As always, we had a very pleasant experience. We went to Butternut ski resort (10 minute drive) which is a small family resort near by and it was a treat to return to the Inn at the end of the day and enjoy the... More

A perfect country getaway. Emphasis on the word "country" - meaning: charming, warm, inviting and yes - imperfect. I don't understand why guests feel the need to bash or complain when privately owned and operated B&Bs IN THE COUNTRY are imperfect, have a few tiny little crawling or flying guests ;), or need "updating". These "flaws" are what make the... More

My husband and I stayed here during a weekend seminar at Kripalu. The inn was beautiful and quite comfortable. The owners were warm, welcoming and very accomodating. I have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten without becoming very ill. The owner was gluten intolerant and was more than happy to prepare a gluten free breakfast for me in the morning.... More

The Inn is a delightful place to stay. It is just down the road from Stockbridge and many attractions in the Berkshires without being in a congested area. The inn is beautifully appointed with many nice amenities. Wine and cheese and crackers are served at 5 PM daily in the lovely living room. This Oct was our second stay there... More

Went for the weekend to admire the foliage and found Federal House to be a perfect place to really appreciate the beauty of the Berkshires. Cozy and beautifully appointed, hosts Kolleen and Brian make sure amenities are readily available. Breakfasts, served by friendly staff in a beautiful dining room, are creative and delicious and the wine and cheese, set in... More

Spent two nights here while passing through the Berkshires and we enjoyed an exceptional stay. Hosts Brian and Kolleen were very friendly and welcoming. Our skylight room was spacious for the three of us with gorgeous four poster beds, two bathrooms (!) and a sitting room. We couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast was served in the elegant dinning room... More

A spacious and elegant hotel. Lovely breakfasts, different every day. A particularly nice touch is that they put out wine and cheese at 5.00pm every day so all the guests congregate and chat. The only slight disappoint was that the hotel is about 3 miles away from Stockbridge where the nearesr bars and restaurants are. There is one restaurant across... More
