The B&B is on Main Street in Sheffield, and we had a front room (room 2). The room was spacious and comfortable, but there was a lot of traffic noise. I used ear plugs. Room air-conditioner worked well, Bathroom was small. Wi-fi was slow but adequate. They seem to have a full breakfast, that looked good, but we had a... More

You can't go wrong here. We have stayed numerous times for a family reunion in the area. We all enjoy the 1802 house very much and we keep coming back. The rooms are comfortable the owners are wonderful and the breakfast is great. I can't say enough good things about the 1802 house.

200 year old home right on Main Street, Ron is an accommodating innkeeper, great homemade muffins, provided shaker and ice bucket for old friends that were stopping by before an event in town. We had room 2 which was lovely but not as quiet as a room in back

We had a great stay at the 1802 House. Ron is an excellent host who, despite having a full house the weekend we were there, was attentive and made us feel welcome. The house is charming. Like all antiques it has its quirks, but that is part of the fun. Our room was large, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was plentiful... More

Nice and reasonably priced place to stay in Sheffield, which is close to but away from the crowds and much more expensive inns in Lenox and Great Barrington. A good hearty but healthy breakfast (not too much oil or butter; turkey bacon). The owner made delicious gluten-free muffins for us. He also gave us good advice on where to do... More

1802 House is comfortable. The bedrooms look like something out of your grandmother's house--flowered wallpaper, tasseled lamps, painted floors, big windows with lots of light. The breakfast is fantastic (homemade muffins, fresh fruit, and a delicious frittata) as is the always available supply of things to drink--from tea to wine. Ron is a good host, detail-oriented and attentive. He allowed... More

We stayed for one night at the 1802 House on a mini road trip through New England. Ron met us when we arrived and was a kind and hospitable host, with loads of information to help us pick a place to eat dinner. I was worried the bed felt slightly rickety but it was absolutely fine! The room was cutely... More

Centrally located for our trip, we had a very comfortable weekend thanks to our hosts. It was just what we needed to get out of NYC.

This is a lovely bed and breakfast in a sprawling, authentically historic (1802) house. It is furnished with lovely antiques. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. There are lots of charming common guest areas - a living room (with loads of books), an enclosed porch, an open covered porch with rocking chairs, and my favorite, a beautiful garden with antique... My family and I went to the Berkshires to get away from the city and enjoy the tranquility of the Berkshires..and we found it at the !802 Berkshire House!! What a wonderful find! Our experience here was nothing short of wonderful and the hosts, Ron and Danny were absolutely fabulous. From the moment I contacted them, they were kind, professional... More
