We stayed for two nights of the July 4th weekend -- a bonus in itself, since many B&B's in the area don't accept less than three night minimums. Our good fortune, as it turned out. The other reviews make it clear, but let there be no doubt at all: the location is fabulous. You can have morning breakfast looking over... More

I booked a room for three nights at the Captain's House in June and must say it was wonderful! The property is lovely and well-maintained and the rooms are charming. Best of all it's just a few steps away from the ocean crashing on the rocky coastline! Being there is like going back in time. The staff was so friendly... More

My family has vacationed at the Captain's House since the 1970s. The location is the best in Rockport with amazing views of local lighthouses, and you can climb on the rocks behind the house to get very close to the water. If you love the ocean, you'll be in heaven here. Staff and guests are incredibly friendly, the temperature is... More

We just stayed for the weekend at the Captain's House. It was our first time here, but hopefully it won't be the last. What a fantastic view, and the ocean and islands set up a peaceful retreat to enjoy to coast in Rockport MA. Very friendly, and the continental breakfast was good.

It was beautiful, friendly and the best location for anyone to stay! We were married on the grounds seventeen years ago, and now going back! Cannot wait! We are looking forward to seeing more of the area and the attraction's...fishing might be an option, 😊

I try to get back to this wonderful inn that is right on the ocean at least once a year. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and I am not always able to. This year we got an early get-away. Yes, it was mid-April. Yes, it was cold (even snowed). But with the wonderful windows and common sun porch, it... More

The house is huge and situated directly facing the ocean and the rock formations below the wall. This is a superb location and setting. We enjoyed our early morning and evening photo forays! The house is large and comfortable with a big living room with 2 open fires and large protected and open porches to choose from for seating choices... More

One simple word . . . GO! Captain's House is a wonderful spot to rest a relax, something we have done for decades. We go back to the time when Captain's House was owned and operated by the current owner's parents, who made everyone who came feel as though they had come to a little corner of paradise. Now, Gretchen... More

The location is beautiful as is the house. Nice rooms with a few creaks that you expect in an old house. Hubby and I did not like the bed or pillows in room 3. The other B &B I've been in usually serves a full breakfast, but here there was yogurt, coffee cake, fruit, granola and juice/coffee. Walked into town... More

The location of the Inn on a point jutting into the Atlantic is about as good as it gets. Almost every room has a superb ocean view and leaving the window open allows you to drifts off to the sound of the waves. The inn is clean and comfortable and serves an excellent breakfast. The owners were away during our... More
