The Emerson Inn by the Sea is an amazing place to get married! The picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean and rocky shores, the classic quaint New England charm of the Inn, the exceptional service from every employee... this place has it all! We could not have imagined a better venue for our wedding. For our wedding, because most of... More

What an impressive hotel, my husband and I were given an upgrade to an ocean view 4 poster bedroom as due to a wedding here we had to reverse our trip. The view of the sunrise over the ocean from the bed was fabulous and the jacuzzi bath was so relaxing. We didn't know until we arrived that Rockport was... More

Stayed 3 nights here. Room quite small but clean with lovely sea view from large widow. Staff very friendly and willing to chat. Restaurant on the Saturday night was very busy and a bit like Fawlty Towers, not enough staff in the kitchen from what we gathered but everybody was smiling. Loved the lounge area especially after a long day... More

We arrived late from Boston Airport to find the hotel almost shut up. We were not aware of the licensing peculiarities of Rockport! Breakfast next morning was superb with a great array if breakfast items all of superb quality. We travelled the peninsula throughout the day and was surprised at the beautiful area. Dinner was superb! I have a penchant... More

My friends and I stayed at the Emerson Inn for a weekend wedding and made our selection from a list of choices. Having never been to the east coast, arriving to this grand beauty, I was absolutely taking away by the stunning view, large back porch with rocking chairs, and dining room off or the foyer. A mental note that... More

The Emerson staff demonstrated exemplary planning and catering for our wedding, and extreme flexibility in the face of adversity. My husband and I had a small wedding of only 22 guests, but the Emerson staff, led by Melissa Hobbs, provided us with housing, a guest breakfast in the Grand Cafe, a cocktail hour, a wedding scheduled for the lawn, and... My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit to this charming (and historic) hotel. We attended a wedding there this past weekend and were very pleased with everything. Drinks(and cookies-Rockport is a dry town and you must order food to buy a drink) on the veranda looking at the ocean was wonderful. The buffet style breakfast -... More

Very welcoming and friendly. Bedroom ensuite very clean if a little small but sufficient. Really enjoyed the swimming pool. Inclusive breakfast was very nice and the evening meal was delicious. Would recommend it for a good atmosphere. My husband, a trained musician, enjoyed playing the grand piano during the evening we stayed there, and guests and staff alike were complimentary.... More

Visiting beautiful Cape Ann, about an hour north of Boston, we toured Gloucester and then Rockport, staying overnight at Emerson By The Sea in Rockport. Gloucester is the more gritty of the two offering an opportunity to get the feel of a real workman's seaport with many restaurants and a short self walking tour. Rockport is the upscale port town... During a five day trip to Rockport, we decided to treat ourselves to a delicious three course meal at the Emerson Inn restaurant. The hotel itself feels charmingly and beautifully dated, with hints of elegance at every turn and absolutely no pretentiousness - the guy singing and playing piano, the cocktails, the screened in terrace and the faded photos on...
