Our room was tiny. my husband could touch the almost ceiling, and he is under 6 foot. We had no place to move, even the bathroom was so small, we did not know where to put our toiletries. The way we could be in the room was to lay in bed, not fun!!! Our room was beach front. The funiture... More

We happened upon this slice of Heaven quite unexpectedly and delightfully! The setting is breathtaking - the grounds extending to the Atlantic! The rooms were small, but honestly, we spent most time outside - in and by the pool, and sitting in most comfortable rocking chairs on the porch looking out to the ocean. The hotel is exceptionally clean and... More

I visited the Inn in the fall to eat dinner and loved the downstairs area, and the restaurant was great. My husband and I were excited to stay there when we visited in July. The room we were in needed some updating and it was extremely small; our master closet is bigger, and it isn't very big. We tried to... More

We were returning visitors: the first time was for a Halloween Nor'easter, the second time this June for a blustery stay again. Beautiful setting and fun experience both times. We will return as this is a very special place. Recommend walks in parks as not easy to walk at the shore.

The Emerson stays true to its historic roots while providing first-class service and amenities. The rooms are kept clean and comfortable. Ours had a spectacular view, it would appear most do. The breakfast buffet was delicious -- a new chef I was told! Historic building have their limits, though. Lots of stairs, for example. If you are looking for nightclubs... More

This is an historic hotel. Please understand that this means that not everything is as some folks might want - new stuff. For us, that is understood - but don't be surprised. The staff that we met were consistently very nice - registration, dining, questions. But this is a relatively expensive experience, and all of that is to be expected.... More

Pigeon Cove is a beautiful section of Rockport and as you pull into the Inn parking lot you are swept away by the view of the Atlantic ocean. Emerson is a throw back to a day gone by. It is a gorgeous Inn with a wonderful wrap around porch where you can sit in Adirondack rocking chairs and have your... More

Beautiful old architecture with lots of history and right on the ocean! If your looking for that New England feel, this is for you. A tranquil place to relax and rejuvenate. The continental breakfast was incredible..I mean incredible! Gale is an amazing cook. All homemade and what a spread! I enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean. So... More

Spent one night here at end of April. We so enjoyed our stayed. We were generously upgraded to a room on 3rd floor overlooking the ocean. It was wonderful! The inn is pretty old, historic and alittle worn, but elegant. The staff (Carol and Julie) was very generous with their time with us. Continental breakfast was OK, nothing special. Located... More

If you're the kind of traveler who lives for valet parking and a Starbucks in the lobby...this is not the place for you. If, however, you're looking for a tranquil, old-fashioned, quiet and restful retreat, you will love the Emerson Inn. We had a king room with the prettiest view you can imagine. The breakfast was lovely, the staff was... More
