Only 15 miles from the hustle and bustle of Providence, set in a beautiful country setting. We slept in the King room with private bath. Very comfy bed, great shower. Best of all was the warm hospitality from Jeanne and Don.

While I’m not one to post reviews, in this case the number of excellent ratings for Gilbert’s is so misleading (at least to me) that I feel compelled to. It’s hard for me to fathom rating criteria where this place would be considered “excellent”. I stayed in one of the downstairs rooms with a private bath (I didn’t go upstairs,... More

My husband & I just spent a wonderful relaxing three days at The Gilbert Tree Farm. We wanted somewhere quiet so we could unwind. The charming old farmhouse, hearty breakfast and easy conversation with our hosts, Jeanne and Don was exactly what we needed. While the farm is located in rural area of MA. It is within easy driving distance... More

In this tranquil setting, on a back country road, not far off of rt 195, at the end of a long driveway, I was a thrilled to find this country setting. I have stayed at many B&B's before, the last being in NYC. The rural, rustic and antique style of this 200 year old house was refreshing and enchanting. The... More

We visit family in Fall River each year. After staying in a hotel close to the kids during the first 3 visits we found it too noisy at night and not relaxing. We have stayed at Gilbert's B&B for the past 8 years now and would not stay anywhere else. The rooms and bathrooms are comfy and clean. Gilbert's warm... More

We have been staying at B&B's for 28 years for the personal touch and relaxing, intimate atmosphere. After doing our homework before our New England vacation, we looked forward to our 4 night stay at Gilbert's because of the positive feedback & 4.5 rating. Our experience was anything but a 4.5! Our king bed was really two twins pushed together.... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. There are three bedrooms that offer a king-size bed. The two twin beds are equipped with a fleece insert between the two beds and a strap is put around the two beds to keep them together. Then the bed is made up with king-size sheets, pillows, blankets and bedspread. The... More

Where do I begin?? We booked this B & B with high expectations after the glowing reviews. When we arrived, the notes taped on the back door directed us to our room. The bathroom was our biggest disappointment as far as the accommodations. It looked like it belonged to someone else and we were sharing it with them. There was... More

Thank you for sharing your observations with us. There are two separate heating zones in the house. The thermostat upstairs is located in the common sitting room and is readily available for guests to adjust. The other thermostat which is also readily available to guests is located in the Music Room that is part of the queen room suite where... More

A dingy attic space is called a bedroom with a shared bathroom behind the wall. There is a small window upstairs, however, it feels like you are in the basement. So so breakfaat is very limited with the hostess sitting next to you and interrogating you. It is like visiting that weird relative, exept you have to pay for it.

It saddens us to learn that your stay here was less than you expected. The three second floor bedrooms, sitting area and bathroom each have one window. When the house was built in the 1830s the rooms were specifically intended to be used as bedrooms. In 1984 one of the bedrooms was converted into a bathroom and is considered spacious.... More

A wonderful couple who welcomed us into their home, Jeanne and Don were great hosts. Breakfast was excellent, the property is beautiful and quiet and peaceful, and the beds are so comfortable (loved the sheets and down comforters). The only drawback is the shared bathroom upstairs, but that's reflected in the price. Nice touches, like providing toiletries to use at... More

Stay here only if you are an ardent Christian. We were asked to join hands and say a prayer at breakfast. Born a Christian but now a practicing Buddhist,I was taken aback that religion was stuffed down your throat. I truly believe the owners need to tone it down a bit for it may make some guests uncomfortable. Otherwise the... More

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We try to be sensitive to our guests. Ever since I started the B&B in 1984 I have started breakfast with a short (10 second) prayer thanking the Lord for the food we are about to eat and for safe travel for our guests who are leaving. I say to the guests,... More
