This hotel has the potential to be great: It is in a perfect location for exploring the area, it has a fantastic themed Mayflower pool and slide (which our kids loved!) and boasts a lovely restaurant (Hearth and Kettle) serving great food/breakfasts. However, this is where the positives end. If I were to describe the main body of the hotel... More

We live nearby but were celebrating with friends and thought it best to stay over night in Plymouth. I was expecting a dated, dingy, motel-like experience (not sure why I had that impression) but I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and quality of the furnishings, linens, bed, etc. We did not spend much time in our room (only to... On our recent vacation in July, we had reservations for three rooms at another local hotel. The rooms were unsatisfactory to us. We went riding around looking for another place to stay for the next two nights. We found the John Carver Inn. That's really where the magic began. Not only did they have 3 rooms available, they were able... More

My family and I stayed here during a trip to Plymouth. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was fine, spacious and clean. The beds were a bit too soft. The décor was nice but a bit dated. We had breakfast in the hotel's restaurant and that was very good. The location was ideal. Our touring began at... More

On a spur of the moment road trip, we did not have hotels booked in advance. Arriving in Plymouth mid-evening on Wednesday 8/6, we tried a couple of hotels on the waterfront, but found them unreasonably expensive. One of them alerted us to a special that was being offered by The John Carver Inn for that night. We were greeted... More

The Inn was very worn out. The staff was very kind and accomodating. The room and hallways were very tired. I am sure all the kids that stay love the pool. As an experienced business traveler this was not up to my standards. The elevator was like stepping into a 90 degree sauna. The property really needs to be renovated.... More

We had our wedding at The John Carver Inn. Everything was perfect! Food was amazing, staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. Great location! Pool is amazing with life guards, a huge plus! We had double rooms and a suite, both were excellent. We highly recommend!

We booked the John Carver Inn for a family vacation with multiple rooms. Our children loved the pool. Both kids (3 and 7) enjoyed the water slide. The adults liked the hot tub on Plymouth Rock situated so we could keep an eye on the kids while still being separate. The part of the family traveling without children loved the... More

Restaurant is outstanding!! Food, service, menu selections were exceptional. Hotel needs some serious carpet cleaning!! Windows dirty and maintenance work needed in rooms. Lamp shades should be replaced as they are discolored and worn. Bed and bed linens comfortable. Housekeeping superb!! Location is perfect for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping. Would feel better if there were better security in parking lot.... More

We chose this hotel for the pool and my kids LOVED it...I do feel it was a bit pricey and the hotel itself is not really in tip top shape, many little technical issues like our TV was not working and we didn't get good response when we called the front desk. It also took a very long time to... More
