The pool is hands down the reason to be there. We went on pretty gloomy days, and the weather kept us indoor mostly. The pool and the tube slide (Kind of like a waterpark slide) kept the kids occupied for hours. Plus we went down too. Lots of fun. The restaurant's prices were great and the food was even better.... more

Shabby and needs a major overhaul and cleaning. I was afraid to walk barefooted on the carpet or wear anything that had dropped to the floor. I found a live cockroach in my suitcase as I was packing to leave and couldn't wait to get out! Perfect location, tho' more

We stayed at the John Carver Inn on a Friday night at the end of May with our 8 yr old son. We chose it for the excellent Pilgrim themed pool with waterslide, which was great and surprisingly quiet given it was the start of the weekend. The room itself was comfortable, good beds, standard layout, clean, usual small American... more

The hotel's pool helps make a family trip to Plymouth into a fun vacation. Our kids enjoyed our staycation to Plymouth because of the fun of the pool which helped them to be in good moods while we toured the many historical sites. The John Carver Inn is also located on the grounds of the initial settlement. more

We just stayed one night here-to have access to the Plimouth Plantation, Mayflower II and other sites in Plymouth. Of the three hotels we stayed in on our trip this was the most expensive at $159 a night. . . we stayed here for the water slide and our daughter loved it!!! The pool was great, the lifeguards were doing... more

We went for a weekend away and stayed in a queen suite w/ fireplace and jacuzzi. It was not like the photo on the website/brochure w/ the fireplace and jacuzzi side-by-side. In our suite, the jacuzzi was in the bedroom area and the fireplace separated the bedroom and living area. The suite was very small! Both rooms. I barely could... more

We did a quck 'staycation' at the John Carver Inn and had a great time. The kids ages 3 and 6 loved the pool and the older one was thrilled with the WII room. The Hearth and Kettle was also a good value and it was nice to go to dinner without having to leave the hotel in the middle... more

Our room with the hot tub and fireplace was beautiful and romantic. The Hearth & Kettle restaurant was relaxing and had good food. The pool area was crazy and the 2 lifeguard were in street clothes and shoes...neither in bathing suits. They sat around and talked and didn't maintain the lap area so adult could swim laps. It was total... more

We had a lovely stay at the John Carver. Great location in the center of town. Walking distance to Plymouth Rock. Check in - very easy. Dee did a great job and upgraded our room. We had a lovely king size bed. Needed a step stool to get into bed. Bedding very comfortable - a small fireplace in room. The... more

I loved the John Carver Inn, as did my family. Great location, amenities, accessibility, and staff. The pool was fun and my kids couldn't get enough of it. However, I found the lifeguards weren't vigilant enough in their efforts to maintain a safe and family-friendly atmosphere. They were nice enough, but seemed to turn a blind eye to MAJOR horse-play... more
