Thought this was a great hotel for families. Traveled with our 8 and 9 year old grandsons and they loved the pool, restaurant and lobby area. It was a great jumping off point for all the activities in Plymouth. We were able to walk to Plymouth Rock and take a whale watching tour.

I went to Plymouth for the 4th of July weekend and stayed at the John Carver Inn. My room was spacious and clean and the a/c worked great. My nephews had a room on another floor and said their a/c did not work well at all. We had this same issue last year with a couple of rooms as well....some... More

I had my wedding reception here. They have a function room that's very elegant and perfect for a smaller reception (100 ppl). The hotel rooms are very nice. This is a great location to downtown Plymouth. You can walk to restaurants and the waterfront.

(1) Nice location because it's within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and harbor. (2) Wi-Fi VERY unreliable: Asked within minutes of arriving in my "deluxe room" on the 2nd floor why the Wi-Fi wasn't working. Front desk said there were probably too many users and to just keep trying until I connected. Guessing I was connected a total of 4... More

Dear D S, Thank you for your review of the John Carver Inn. We are currently working on the wi-fi issue as our system was overloaded earlier this week. Our IT person has come up with a solution that will be making our wi-fi more consistent for our guest. It was nice to read that you think we have an... More

The room is very clean and well made. The decor is dated, but should be expected considering the area. We stayed in both a double queen and a king suite. The double queen room met the price value. Quiet and very clean. The king suite I'm not 100% sure it's worth the money. The room itself is very comfortable, but... More

Nice quite comfortable room. Staff is friendly. The hotel is older but not run down. Dinner in the tavern was great and the friendly bartender(Jackie) made you feel at home. They have a kid friendly pool but did not use it. Close to all the the Plymouth sites.

Great place for the kids. It has a water slide in the pool. The staff are very friendly and particularly accommodating with kids. The hotel does need a serious make over and feels like it's from the 1970s. However, it's clean and cheerful and does the job. We would chose this hotel again.

I don't under reviewers giving 4star ratings and then commenting "rooms dated" "needs upgrading ". Stay in July - $210 - $240 per night. With price, high expectations, right? Breakfast not included, tiny coffee maker in room (no creamer/sugar -great if you like black coffee), refrigerator a plus. Poor wifi /internet connection -a sin. Flimsy plastic and styrofoam cups- not... More

We stayed at the JCI for three days and enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent, within walking distance to almost everything in town. There must be 20 good restaurants in walking distance from hotel. We only got in our car one time to see the plantation. The rooms were nice and the beds however soft were surprisingly comfortable. I... More
