We stayed here midweek in one of the basic double located in the old coach house. The room was clean and if a good size there was no bath but the ensuite shower again was a good size clean white good quality tiling. Tea and coffee making facilities flat screen TV free wifi, trouser press, hair dryer etc. the room... More

We stayed in the Coach House with our dog, and it was very clean, quiet and the sound of owls hooting sent us off to a deep sleep in the very comfy beds. I can see it would be a problem lugging suitcases to the coach house if you don't arrive by car. Maybe the management could use one of... More

Stayed for just one night on a business trip last week (March 2015) and a warm welcome from reception was matched by all the staff - polite and justly proud of their hotel. I bit quirky as the lift takes you 'down' from the reception floor to the bedrooms and a guide in the lift would be useful to assist... More

Stayed here for two nights on business, was pleasantly surprised. Very old but yet in good nick. I was directed to my room which was a pain as I had to lag my bags to the Coach House - outside building - bit of a walk as I arrived in a taxi. Security code to enter building and the quietness... The nearest I've had to Greg Wallace's "fine dining". Excellent meal with good service. The hotel room was a little tired, but comfortable enough and, "heh, who cares?" at these room rates. A nice pint of Timmy Taylor's in the bar served by an enthusiastic and well informed barman, keen to tell us the rather eccentric history of the hall.... More

Having booked online a few week before, we arrived around 6pm on a Friday night with a friendly welcome. The standard rooms are in a separate building called the Coachhouse (the suites are in the main hall) but it's a 2 minute walk from the main hall. Very clean and spacious room, comfortable bed and lots of cupboard room. Nice... More

We have just been back to Owston Hall Hotel after an absence of a couple of years - the reason for the absence was last time we went the food was terrible. Today was different - the menu is much better - I had the fish goujons, my husband had a BLT sandwich. Both were put together very well, we... More

Where do we start. Most important hotel stay of your life is your wedding night and what a mistake staying here. Had bridal suite the bedroom was impressive and bathroom luxurious. However that's the only positive. In the night we got woken up by a siren noise like a fire alarm. Phoned reception and after about 5 attempts as no... More
