Joan was very welcoming and is an excellent cook. Be sure to try her jams and ask for the baked apple! This is not the traditional b&b- it is her one- floor home. So we shared her bathroom and our only privacy was in our room. But overall the stay was very nice and the value was great.

A warm cozy home run by the owner Joan. Comfy beds, good food, and good company. Close to all amenities as well. Really enjoyed the "home away from home" feel here, would definitely stay again if in the area.

This is not a traditional B&B; this is a residential home. There are 3 rooms to rent, and two of them share a bathroom but one has a private bath. The shared bathroom has a rather small shower stall which may be an issue for some people. Rooms and bathroom were neat and clean. The room we stayed in had... More

We were traveling from the Philadelphia area to Acadia National Park, ME and wanted an interesting midway point to break up the drive. This was the perfect location, close to the highway for the continuation of our trip and close to the T for our day in Boston. Joan was very welcoming upon arrival and gave us suggestions for dinner... More

We stayed here last year and I am surprised that there are so many excellent ratings. Joan is a lovely woman but her B and B is nothing to rave about. It is fairly clean but dated and if you stay in the double room, you share the bathroom with Joan. Breakfast was okay and she makes you welcome but... More

Joan is welcoming and friendly in her small b & b, she has just 3 rooms and she does indeed treat her guests as one of her family, a fresh cooked breakfast which is very good, you are invited to watch tv with her, you stay in her home and Joan we think that you are great, excellent value.

It’s like come and visit your grandma. The breakfast is delicious, Joan will get you almost whatever you like. The house located In a residential neighborhood, easy to get to by car, very good location for Salem, Gloucester, Boston, and I guess all North shore. It’s a private house with 3 guest rooms, 2 with shared bath and 1 with... More

Stayed for two weeks on vacation! Great location and great price! Beautiful room with private bathroom. Full homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious. Coffee fresh and jam was Joan's own! Bus on street took me all over the North Shore. Wi-Fi and Large Screen TV was added bonus! Enjoyed it! Would stay again. Oh and a nice in-ground pool!... More

My husband and I were visiting family and needed a place to stay. Joan's place was just right. No it is not a posh, historic kind of B and B, but is was great. In a residential neighborhood, easy to get to by car, clean comfy rooms, nice and quiet and dark for sleeping and oh, the breakfasts! YUM! You... More

Joan made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We watched her large screen TV on her airy porch. We were able to put our car snacks in her frig. No continental breakfast here-Joan serves a full homemade breakfast. Everything is delicious and made from scratch. Her coffee cake, her jams, French toast and cheese omelets are great. Our rooms were... More
