I'm still wondering why people give this Hotel such poor ratings. My husband & I just returned form a vacation in Salem, and found the Homestead the perfect place to stay. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable people who went out of the way to help us with directions and give us everything we needed. The room was clean &... more

Our first recommendation would be that you try to check-in early if at all possible. That way, if there is a problem with the room, you may have the option to switch to another room more to your liking. My wife and I, along with a few friends, flew to Boston for a wedding and collectively we booked a total... more

It's the second time we stayed at Extended Stay America chain hotel. We still had the same good experience during our stay. At check-in, we were wrongly assigned to a smoking room. After complaint, the staff apologized and quickly fixed it for us. Inside our room, it's very clean. The water of indoor pool is very warm. We hadn't problem... more

Ok, this place is really a dump. I reserved a one bedroom suite for October 27-29 so that me, my husband, our friend and her son could enjoy halloween in Salem. I requested a non-smoking room and we got a room that still had smoke clouds in it. There was also a dog barking at the top of its lungs... more

My husband and I were traveling to Boston for a week to see some great sights. The cost of travel and all the tours and rental car were very high so we decided to find a place to offset the price. This was it! $50 night! Over the week that we stayed it was pretty basic. There is nothing special... more

One of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed - Blood on mattress, stains on the walls, carpet and sofa were stained with different liquids I don't even want to know. Hallways were dirty and banged up. This hotel needs serious cleaning and possible rennovation. Room request was not originally honored, was given a room that was not cleaned by... more

Hotel for the money was an excellent value although a little off the beaten path. Checked in early with no problem front desk was courteous and helpful. Room was adequate size and clean. If going for a short stay and rate is an issue this is a great option. paid 79.99 plus for 1 night stay. more

This review written by a single male, 39, travelling for pleasure, clean and organized, but not picky: Room was clean and quiet (facing away from the nearby highway), no complaints to make, Tara the front desk clerk was warm and courteous. They did overbook the hotel, but I got a room anyway. The hotel is no more difficult to find... more

Where are the maids?? For the amount of money I paid I expected some maid service but I received nothing. Spoke with the front desk, who informed me that they were short-staffed and had no one available to clean my room. Hire some help quick before the place goes down the tubes! Also the location is terrible...had to drive through... more
