My sister had a surprise birthday party on the vineyard in August and we booked the Wesley to stay for an overnight because we thought it would be a top of the line experience mainly because of location and the PRICE OF THE ROOM! The location of this hotel is the ONLY thing going for it. The staff was not... more

We were completely taken by Martha's Vineyard. This was the only hotel with space when we decided to stay overnight. Tiny room, smaller bathroom, without a view for $225 plus tax. Not even a coffee maker or phone in the room (coffee in the lobby frequently cold). Broadcast TV only, no cable or satellite. Location is excellent, adjacent to the... more

THe location is great and the management thinks they can treat their customers like [--] because of it. The rooms are so far overpriced it itsn't funny. They are small, dingy, worn out, smelly and moldy. Worse than that, the staff, starting with the owner and his wife, is rude, insulting, argumentative and insolent. As proprietors working to satisfy the... more

We stayed here for one night and the location is great. We brought our boat over from the Cape and had the teens stay on the boat while my husband and my brother in law and his wife stayed in the room along with my 3 year old son. They charged an extra $30 pp over double occupancy . They... more

We thought the Wesley was very nice. Close to where the ferry docks. Our second floor room was large, clean and bright with a view of the harbor. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small and a bit of peeling wallpaper there, but no mold or smell. Staff was very helpful - extra towels and pillows upon request. The porch... more

We got a great off-season rate for one night during Memorial Day weekend, using a special offered on the hotel's Web site. We'd booked a king room, but they gave us a Queen. It was an accessible room on the first floor of the hotel, with its own exterior entrance to the back of the property. The room was seriously... more

We (4 couples) have stayed here in June & October 2007 during the off-season. Although the hotel isn't very modern we have had fun both times. We stayed in suites in June and rooms in October. The only difference is that the suites have a fridge and the TV area is a separate small room with a loveseat. The rooms... more

I just returned with my church group from a weekend trip to Martha's Vineyard and we stayed at the Wesley Hotel. The hotel is old and dated (built in 1879 and remodeled in 1986 according to their pamphlet), with sparse furnishings as previous reviewers have stated, but I wouldn't go as far to call it a dump. There is the... more

The good stuff: perfect location for access to Oak Bluffs' party and restaurant scene, beautiful from the outside, great porch with rocking chairs for enjoying the weather and a great view of the harbor, very nice lobby with period furnishings and old photos. The marginal stuff: a worn feel to the furnishings, cleanliness of the common areas is spotty, and... more

The exterior views are much nicer than the interior experience. More of a motel than a hotel. The beds are not good at all. The bathrooms have only a shower, with "home depot" style cheap vanity cabinet. The toiletries, towels and bedding were not even Motel 6 standard. But hey, the location is great. And it wasn't as dirty and... more
