I almost didn't stay here because of the recent reviews but then decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. I am not sure what the other reviewers were expecting and maybe the pool being out of commission was a big problem but I was completely satisfied. And for the record the pool is now open and... More

Okay, on the outside, it looks fine. But once inside it looks like it had not been updated since the 1970s when I was a Smith College student. It's the closest hotel to the campus! It's not too shabby because of its location, price point, and lovely staff. Northampton is such a lovely town for eateries, sites, and shopping. So,... More

My grandparents stayed at this Hotel in the 1970's.... back then it was top tier. Today it is about on the level of an EconoLodge if not slightly below. There is a nice pool (I did not swim). The continental breakfast is good and the staff is very friendly. The room was drab- looks like it hasn't been updated since... More

Most positive thing is the location -beautiful neighborhood and the other positive is that the staff seemed nice. The picture on the brochure and website looks MUCH better that the real deal. Very drab, depressing place and yes, it had a musty smell. It could be a beautiful place but it needs much love and updating. It just was very... More

I have stayed at the Autumn Inn many times over the past 15 years, beginning when I was in grad school in Northampton. The inn used to be a low-key, family run place- nothing fancy, just a good place to stay. For many years, it was our go-to place to with our kids right when school ended because of their... More

We snuck away for a three day break to Northampton to kick off summer vacation. Planned to watch some World Cup with soccer fans and read and relax by the pool. Temperatures were in the 90s! Imagine our disappointment when the beautiful pool was closed. We have spent many mini vacations here and always enjoyed relaxing by the pool. The... More

The staff were friendly and the room was fine, with everything you need/expect. The location is a bit of a walk to downtown, and the breakfast was nothing special in a very dark, depressing room - all for an average price.

Maybe it should be called the Autumn Motel, since in rooms and breakfast it is much more of a motel than an Inn (like a B&B). But for what is is, it's very good. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in order to ride the various bike paths. It was quiet and comfortable. Room had a fridge which is... More

The building facing the road looks great. But walk in and get ready for a melange of odors! The breakfast room is depressing early American. The building out back is all motel. Our room smelled awful-had to buy deodorizer at cvs. Again ugly dreary furniture and a couple of measly energy saving lights. I would not return even though great... More

I'll agree that the rooms here are simple and that the place hasn't been updated in a while. In fact, it looks about the same as it did when I used to play there with my elementary school buddy whose parents' owned it then. HOWEVER - the place is clean and comfortable and the staff has class. Aubrey, the Assistant... More
