I recently treated my Mother to a 3 day trip to Truro for her 86th birthday and by ways of a friends recommendation we happened to learn about Kalmar Village. This is a hidden gem and a very special piece of property. The owner, Dave Prelack was so accommodating and gracious when deciding which room would be most appropriate for... More

We stayed in cottage by parking lot as it was last minute booking and I would not recommend it. Noisy passers-by coming in and out, screen doors slams meant no late sleeping. The furnishings are from the 70's. The fridge from the 60's froze all our food overnight or shut itself off. The kitchen implements (bowls, glasses etc) were dismal... More

We stayed at Kalmar village in a Deluxe 2 BR cottage. It was magical! I'd love to return each summer and already look forward to my next stay. Pros: Very serene location. Great beach front location and a true sense of community. Perfectly manicured grounds. Short walk to Ptown- which is nice. We were close enough yet away from the... More

Our third trip back to Kalmar Village. Everything you need in one place. Accommodations are clean. Right on the bayside beach. Daily housekeeping, friendly staff. Full kitchen. I love the real percolator. The public bus stops right in front of the village. No need to drive to Provincetown. You can see the Pilgrim Monument from the beach. If you are... More

We paid over $1k for three nights and all we got was an old cottage that faces the parking lot, with bugs/flies/mosquitos inside and right outside the door (we got bug bites all over our body from the stay), no A/C, window panes that shake with wind, broken fridge, and constant noise from people coming and going. I'm giving this... More

As you read this review, bear in mind that despite the limitations that I will highlight, I am still giving Kalmar five stars. While there is a pool and a beach, Kalmar is by no means a resort. Kalmar is a cottage colony on an extraordinarily picturesque stretch of beach on the outer Cape. The older cottages are circa 1940s... More

I've spent over 30 years of spending some time in the summer in North Truro. Of all the rentals I've stayed at on Rte. 6A, I have to say Kalmar Village is my favorite. I've stayed at almost every rental on the scenic beach road, and I have never been disappointed at Kalmar. Very clean, friendly service, daily maid service... More

I stayed here this Memorial Day Weekend (a HUGE weekend in Provincetown) with a bunch of friends. The courtyard area was perfect for grilling and games...and it's right on the beach! Great location - just far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to bike right into town. Also has pet-friendly cabins which is a big deal... More

Kalmar's newer/larger queen efficiencies are one of the best deals on the Cape. Nice, clean, updated rooms with kitchenette, couch, dining table, etc. The beach they're on is amazing at low tide when it goes out hundreds of yards.

I spent a week iin September in efficiency unit no. 5 at «Trade Winds» which is managed by «Kalmar Village». Not roomy but since I was alone it was perfect & 2 people could certainly get around fine. Basic accomodation but comfy, quiet, clean & very reasonable price. A/C installed but I did'nt need it. Friendly & helpful personnel *.... More
