My wife and I stayed in the efficiency cottages termed the "tradewinds" at Kalmar Village. Stayed there the 4 days after labor day. Had a great time. The whole Cape felt sort of empty and relieved, like it was exhaling a deep breath as the busy summer season had just ended. Loved it. Had things to ourselves. No parking fee's... more

This 'resort' has seen better days. Not much money is being put back into the interiors of the rental units. We stayed in the Tradewinds section, and you get to sit in the parking lot at your plastic table. (The owners told us in 2008 that they were building wooden decks for the Tradewinds units. Didn't happen) Bathroom was recently... more

Thanks to David and Tom for making us welcome and helping us out when a friend's car broke down.. Easy access to seashore, clean rooms, firendly crowd (some coming year on year), easy access to Provincetown and Atlantic beaches by bike (and there is a regular shuttle downtown), the launderette works and we relaxed. more

This was a great place for our collective families to gather for a week long vacation on the Cape. It is old school in terms of accomodations but that's kind of what makes it so charming. You have to be willing to "check out' of your perfect and comforatble world in order to experience the simplicity of a cape vacation.... more

I don't know what all the other reviewers are talking about. Kalmar Village is very very clean. I have been going for 15 years. I would reccomend this place to anyone, Sure the chairs may be vinyl, but really, when you at Cape Cod who cares?! Oh and did I mention you can see the water when you walk out... more

My friends and I took a trip to Truro for the week.. We drove past Kalmar Village and thought it looked like a quaint place. We stopped by and spoke with "Tom". What a nice guy. He was helpful in tell us the details and showed us a cottage. Usually there needs to be a reservation, however, we lucked out... more

I was making my reservations for my family summer trip, and decided to post on this site. i have been staying at Kalmar for almost thirty summers, I look forward to relaxing outside my cottage, and doing the same simple things we did when i came as a kid. We pick the same week every year, and have made so... more

Where to start? The location is very good since it it close to both the National Seashore and the warm waters of the Bay. Provincetown is nearby as is Wellfleet. Also, the beach at Kalmar Village is very nice. Then it's downhill very, very rapidly. Our unit had what was euphemistically called a kitchen; really just a small counter at... more

this is billed over & over as a 'family' property, but it doesn't work out well w/younger children. there is a 'quiet by 10pm' policy, but one or two families will make as much noise as possible until 10pm. one night the cackling & shouting went on until 11pm w/o managment stopping it. another night a family actually set up... more

First a caveat - we did not stay here but we did drive in to inspect the property while looking for vacancies in North Truro. The property looks impressive from the aerial view which you see on the website but, as a prior review noted, there is a good reason why you do not see closer shots of the interior... more
