As other reviewers have pointed out, it is impossible to open the windows. We ended up here because there was nowhere else in the area, and this was the only room they had. The smell of stale tobacco was overpowering. The staff were very friendly and evidently do the best they can, but this place really needs to be demolished... more

We were hitting the road for a hockey tournament and ended up here. Last year for the same tournament we stayed 20 miles away in Pittsfield and I have no idea why the team wanted to go to this dump. The building is in dire need of updating. The dusty fixtures in the lobby matched the dusty guest rooms. The... more

There are hundreds of lovely little B & Bs and family-run hotels in the Berkshires, but many are closed in November because they are either recovering from the foliage crowd or are getting ready for the ski season. That led us to reserve a night at the Holiday Inn North Adams-we knew what to expect- boring decoration, but a minimal... more

I'm just going to say one thing: this hotel is going down the tubes! I had stayed there a couple times every year for a long time now the manager Joe always took great care of us and even though the hotel could use a renovation him and his staff always treated us good so it made up for it.... more

Just stayed here for one night. The hotel is VERY, VERY dated (think lots of dusty silk floral arrangements in the Lobby). Textiles in poor shape - same for bathroom fixtures/hard surfaces. As it was one night, we survived -- but if you are anything like me (a germophobe), I would look elsewhere. You know it's downhill when you walk... more

Carpets and upholstery need cleaning badly. The heater is VERY noisey. It was tempting to put up with the chill rather than listen to that racket. I can't comment on the food because the restaurant was closed for renovations. We lived on Papa Gino's across the street. We stayed on the fifth floor ( No ice machine on that floor... more

I had checked out our lodging options online before we headed out to the North Adams area. I did not make a reservation as I wanted to have some flexibility. After driving around and spending the day sightseeing and checking out a couple of other spots to stay (one reminded me of the Bates Motel from Psycho, which of course... more

I stayed at the HI in North Adams while visiting MASS MoCA and relatives, using my company discount the price was $94.00 a night. Check-in was a breeze the staff was very friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants and changing my room to non-smoking. Parking is close by in an open air parking lot. In the basement is a workout room,... more

Stayed here unexpectedly (was supposed to stay with family) and had an acceptable experience. Went with Number ONe son to visit Mass College of Liberal Arts. Ha d a room on 7th (top) floor with a lovely view of the mountains. We arrived in advance of an ice/snow storm and found it lovely to look out at the surrounding hills/mountains... more

Hotel needs some work, but overall we had a good time. Reasonable prices, at least for the summer (considering their proximity to Mass Moca and the Williamstown Theater Festival.) Also the people who work there were just friendly, honest people. No forced smiles! Would recommend if you're in North Adams. more
