With a location minutes from Mass Moca and just down the road from the Clark and the Williams College art museum, Porches is perfect for the touring art lover. And if you have kids, the hotel's informality, buffet breakfast, hiking trail and--most of all--the pool and hot tub will keep them happy. The rooms are quirky and you can hear... More

My husband and I stayed here because we were in town visiting family for the holiday. The place was great, great amenities, very comfortable rooms and very wel decorated. We used the fitness center and the outdoor heated pool which added to our positive experience there. Our only complaint is that the accustics in the hallways is bad and when... More

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving night at Porches and only wish that we had stayed longer. Our room was large and comfy with wonderful vintage lamps and mirrors. The bathroom had a claw foot tub as well as a rain head shower and two warm robes. The view of snow-covered branches and icicles the next morning was New England... More

Porches was a great place to stay for a one-night art getaway to the Williamstown/North Adams area. We had a comfortable and very clean deluxe Queen room with an enormous and nicely outfitted bathroom. The included "Continental" breakfast had a nice assortment of mostly healthy items -- yogurt, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, juices -- and some tempting baked goods as... More

The Porches Inn is situated across from the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MoCA) and offers both a friendly ambience and comfortable accommodation. We were there over the American Thanksgiving for a rendez-vous with our daughter, her husband and children, arriving in a blowing snowstorm. Check-in was enhanced by the blazing wood-burning fireplace adjacent to the reception area. Our... More

I just spent a night at the Porches Inn with a friend. We were in the area to visit the Clark Museum in Williamstown and MassMoCA. The inn is a group of renovated houses which are across the street from MassMoca. They were the former homes of mill workers and have been charmingly restored. My room was large, and the... More

My husband booked this hotel and at first I was a little taken aback by the room and its furnishings. It was more like somebody's home rather than a hotel. However, I soon warmed up to its ambiance and charm. These are old refurbished working man's quarters to the factory across the street (now a wonderful modern art museum which... More

This inn is a creative re-purposing of old rooming houses transformed into comfortable and relaxing hotel rooms, lobby areas and breakfast rooms. Charming from the get-go with a fireplace room perfect for chatting or reading and a pop-up wine bar. Beds are extremely comfy, and the breakfast spread was extensive. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We found this place when planning a trip to a concert at MassMOCA. We were a little hesitant with the daily rate (we thought it high for North Adams, MA) but were glad that we went with the Porches. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. The reviews that describe this place as "quirky" are accurate, but quirky in a... More

We stopped here during a road trip around New England and chose Porches, as it was quirky and different. It is like staying in someone’s house in the countryside rather than a hotel. We were given a free upgrade to a suite (room 12 in the grey building), which was much appreciated! Our room had separate living area over looking... More
