No doubt, Porches is a comfortable place to stay while exploring the North Adams area. My room was great and I enjoyed the decor. The bathroom was lovely! Breakfast was enjoyable, as well. The young people that work at the front desk and throughout the inn, are very nice and helpful, but need mentoring by someone with more hospitality experience.... more

We stayed in a one bedroom in the grey building. the bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom with a nice big old fashioned bathtub. the outdoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna was very nice. they also serve a decent breakfast free of charge. when we were there, they seemed to be a lot of european travelers. the MASS Moca across the street... more

Maybe I got my hopes too high, in that before arriving, I was picturing a retreat with modern amenities, but with a country feel. What we got was an incredibly overpriced small room with average comfort and very mixed customer service (some good, some horrible). Upon checking in, we were given keys to our room upstairs from the check-in desk.... more

We stayed at the Porches Inn for two nights over the 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful time. Upon check-in, we discovered we were upgraded to a suite. Because all the suites are on the first floor facing the street, I was a little concerned about the street-level noise being a light sleeper, but fortunately, I found that... more

Wow! It sounds like you really enjoyed everything Porches has to offer. Our décor is fun, interesting, and is often described as “Granny chic.” The bathrooms in many of our rooms are quite large and well-appointed. In fact, a number of our guests are so inspired by our rooms that they ask for our paint schemes, and for more information...

My husband and I went to Porches for our year anniversary. I still can't spot raving about the following: *A-mazing breakfast. All natural, tons of variety, high quality, and they even give you coffee to go cups with lids. You don't need to make a Starbucks run after staying here. Please, please try the homemade granola along with the fresh... more

Happy Anniversary and thank you spending it at Porches! We're glad you enjoyed our breakfast - we work hard to offer the freshest, healthiest items which we source as locally as possible. Many of our bathrooms offer huge old-fashioned clawfoot tubs so request one if you didn't already have the pleasure. The pool IS fun and popular year-round - if...

We visited the Porches for a quick overnight and enjoyed it. I will not repeat the comments previously set forth except to say that we found the décor, the architecture, and the atmosphere to be relaxed and fun. I felt as though I was on the set for a play by Tennessee Williams or Eugene O’Neil. A couple of observations.... more

I love your description of Porches' decor - may we quote you?!? Please accept my sincere apology for the wait on your room - and thank you for making us aware of the issue so that we may address it with our staff. I'm glad you relaxed by our pool in the meantime and found the inn to be comfortable...

This s a lovely 'art hotel' perfect for visiting Massmoca. The decoration of the rooms and buildings are great fun; the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is superb - virtually perfect with superb condiments. The continental breakfast is of a high standard including fresh grapefruit, good bread and cheese. However I do feel their cereal range was a little... more

We came out to North Adams from Boston for a quick getaway for some fresh air and an event at Mass MoCA (along with the art, of course). I had been pining to stay at Porches for a long time and finally got a chance to this time. It was fantastic! The front desk person was cheery and gave us... more

My husband and I just spent a relaxing weekend at the Porches Inn. The winter special for a suite was a good deal, and the rooms were beautiful, funky and comfortable, but really elegant at the same time. The staff was pleasant and helpful at all times. We had so much fun hanging out in the hot tub in the... more

I just returned from a very pleasant and relaxing night away wiht hubbie. The trip really exceeded my expectations. To be honest, I had no expectations for North Adams. We spent about 3 hours at Mass MOCA and most of the remaining time at the hotel, in the jacuzzi, in the lounge or in our room watching a movie. It... more
