We stayed in two rooms for two nights at the Garrison Inn. A boutique hotel it is not. Hospitality it does not offer. Warmth is not a quality I could say about this place. We wound up spending over one thousand dollars for our stay due to screw ups with their billing system. The staff (with the exception of the... more

Stayed in the Penthouse Suite. Inn is nice, suite is comfortable and well decorated, but bathroom is substandard. Tiny shower with a lot of mildew on the door corners - completely took away from the elegance of the rest of the suite. Advertises fireplace, but it is $8.00 for every log you burn. Advertises pool, but there is no pool... more

I stayed with my wife in the Penthouse room. It was our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The room we stayed in was two floors, loft style, and the decor and lighting were great. Very romantic, filled with mirrors, night lighting, king size comfortable bed. Very classical/antique -- filled with unique, pretty lamps, vases, statues, clocks, and to top it... more

For 190.00 per night this place fell short!!!! Springs were protruding out of the stained mattress. Dirty towels, nothing worse than washing your face, then drying with a towel that is loaded with someone elses hair. You can hear street noise from any room and a large air conditioning compressor. Breakfast was something out of a microwave. You are better... more

I was referred to the Garrison Inn by a family member we were visiting. She sure knew what I liked. The moment I walked into the room - all I could say was "Cute" or "darling." I started to sound like our mothers, but it was so true. The location is great - close to the good shops and restaurants... more

I was really excited to stay here, the website photos looked great and they talked a lot about high standards and excellent customer service, and for the price we paid I expected that. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left our stay was a big disappointment. The concierge didn't even say hello to me or ask... more

For those looking for an upfront brief review, my stay at the Garrison Inn was delightful. The room was charming, clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, location excellent, and breakfast delicious. I would recommend it time and again and plan on returning sometime soon for an Autumn getaway. For those looking for a little more detail…. A friend and... more

Booked the Garrison Inn as it received very good reviews and we like the small hotels offering friendly service. We felt like we were a nuisance to the front desk staff. The room was just ok. Breakfast was precooked and it tasted bland - liked the latte. more

During a recent weekend getaway, we arrived in Newburyport without reservations. We were pleasantly surprised by the choices available at the Garrison Inn and feel the stay exceeded our expectations. The staff at the Garrison Inn are gracious, professional, and helpful. The building is in a nice location across from Brown Square and is only a few blocks from shops... more
