My husband and I had the most delightful stay at the Shirakaba Guest House this past weekend for our babymoon/honeymoon. We were blown away with how personalized and special Louise and Sadao made our weekend. From the moment we stepped into our slippers and robes, Louise and Sadao treated us like celebrities - the hospitality was above anything we have... More

On 10/19 my wife and I checked into the Shirakaba Guest House for a two night stay. We selected this guest house based on the positive feedback from Tripadvisor which I always use to plan vacations or getaways. I have to agree with the other guests who stayed at this small inn. It is a gem in the Berkshires. If... More

We had such a great weekend on our baby moon trip from the NYC area. A coworker suggested it and guaranteed we would have an excellent time. He was right! Arranging the weekend was easy via email. GPS made it easy to find if you are driving yourself and the leaves were already starting to change which made it nice.... More

We recently stayed at the Shirakaba Guest House and we were fortunate to have Sadao and Louise's undivided attention. The inn is indeed incredibly tranquil and the food and hospitality are nonpareil. The garden gazebo has a breathtaking view of the Berkshires and is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

This is our second year visiting this wonderful place. Even though we were only staying a short while(a long weekend) it was a great experience for us and our friends that we brought there for the first time. The rooms were excellent and renting out both meant we had the place all to ourselves and we left back to the... More

Louise and Sadao run a heavenly Japanese guest house in the Berkshires. I was worried about needing a car to get around but we definitely DID NOT need it! My fiancée and I took a bus from Port Authority to Pittsfield after work (4 hours), where Louise picked us up and brought us back to the guest house (short 15... More

For our anniversary, we had a precious few days away without the kids and were looking for a place to relax and reconnect. How incredibly fortunate we were to find Shirakaba and to put ourselves in Louise and Sadao's more than capable hands. I was intrigued by the idea of a Japanese-style bed and breakfast and was impressed by the... More

Highly recommend the Shirakaba for a restful retreat. Louise and Sadao go above and beyond to meet your needs. The suites are spacious and comfortable and the food is AMAZING. Louise has thought of so many little touches - she puts so much thought and care into your experience. Thank you for a wonderful time!

We decided on a quick quiet get-away and would like to try the Japanese hospitality at Shirakaba. Louis and Sadao did not disappoint us with their exceptional services and enjoyable conversation from Japanese culture to green construction to travel stories. Authentic Japanese post and beam construction, calming decoration including kanji from a Zen master and authentic tatami dining room set... More
