I've been coming to m.v. for years and typically stayed in Edgartown (e.g. Hob Knob, Kelley House, Harbor View and others). This time we decided to stay Up Island and so glad we did. It's a totally different vibe than staying in the midst of the hustle bustle, but a welcome change of pace if you don't mind taking a... More

Menemsha is at the quiet west end of MV. At this inn you have access to the best beach (Lucy Vincent), picturesque harbor, best restaurant (Beach Plum), best cafe/deli (Beetlebung). It'd be great for a couples getaway or a family reunion. Staff, Virginia, Joel and Julie are friendly and accommodating in every way. Housekeeping is excellent, beautiful grounds. An easy... More

We were looking for a quiet country retreat and found one in the little fishing village of Menemsha. We stayed in the Carriage House. The room was simple but comfortable. It was the beautifully landscaped grounds, the fabulous view, and the friendly staff that made this experience exceptional. Virginia and Joel were most helpful and their knowledge of Martha's Vineyard... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Menemsha Inn on a trip through New England. We stayed in the Fo'Castle Cottage and had a wonderful visit. The cottage which had a sea view, was beautifully maintained and very comfortable. Housekeeping was outstanding throughout our stay. Virginia and Joel in the main office know all there is to know about... More

We stayed on the Vineyard for five nights. The first leg of our trip we stayed in a very upscale boutique hotel in Edgartown. We wanted to experience the flavor of Menemsha and surrounding beaches. We could not find many choices, so Menemsha Inn seemed like a good compromise. The grounds are well kept and beautifully mature. Rooms are clean,... More

Beautiful view from ocean view room, good bed, balcony, quiet, decent breakfast (pastry, cereals, hard-boiled eggs, fruit salad, yogurt, good coffee). Easy walk to dinner next door at Beach Plum (bring a flashlight). I'd give it a 5 except when I called the day before to see if I could check in early because of a workshop I was attending... More

The vineyard was packed (Aug) and this was the only spot that we could find accommodations. The exterior of the cottages look like they could use a few coats of paint. The sofas all seemed to be nice in the Cottages that we had other than that it seemed like the décor could use a spiffying up. The accommodations were... More

Pros: location, friendly staff, they actually have a fitness center and usable tennis court, free breakfast Cons: outdated amenities (1990s-era tvs with vcrs, for example), NOT enough hot water for all guests to take hot showers (!!), so feels more like a camp than an overpriced hotel

Enjoyed a girlfriends get away and enjoyed 2nts with 2 rooms in the main lodge. Rooms 5&6 offered nice views of the ocean and the sunsets. We walked down the beach which seemed farther away than what they had said plus we were a little unsure of the walking path...but we made it! Morning breakfast was basic, however the views... More

This couldn't have been better for a quick fall getaway. We stayed in one of the cottages after Columbus Day which meant 'up island' restaurants were closed while we were there on a Tuesday, Wednesday and part of Thursday. Thanks to Larsen's Fish Market, it didn't matter. We had our lobster rolls and stuffed scallops in front of a blazing... More
