We've stayed at the Beach Plum Inn once a summer for the past two years and plan to do it again next summer. I love that this place is quaint, private and most of all "up-island" (meaning west side). The couples cottages are a great place to rest and spend some alone time as they provide a good deal of... More

We did not stay but did done at the Beach Plum Inn. The inn itself is gorgeous and perfectly situated with a great harbour view. There was a wedding rehearsal dinner going on in the outdoor area and it looked magnificent. My whole group agreed that the dining rooms decor was enviable! The menu is small but the food is... This used to be my 'go-to' restauant when I had off -island guests visiting. The view is spectacular: the menu inventive: and BYOB made for a unique experience. Yes, it has been expensive, but had usually been worth it. This year however, the 4 item menu included a $75.00 chicken dish. I thought it was a typo. And bread cost... More

This place is all about the location; in the hills but only a 15 minute walk down to the beach. We stayed in one of the separate cottages which was fantastic. It was basically a huge bedroom with a private bathroom and a great private porch on the front, no kitchen though. Not the place to go if you're looking... More

I stayed in sea breeze cottage recently. It was clean but badly in need of repair. There was no handle on the back door leading to the patio, just two holes in the wood where a handle must have been. The wall paper was held up by thumb tacks and the phone was not working. Even worse were the wires... More

This place has gone DOWNHILL. Too bad, great setting, lovely staff...but poor execution and presentation. Food was cold, not well prepared and amateurish. Would be out of business in any place else. Come for a drink and go back to Detente or Alchemy for dinner.

Stayed at the Beach Plum a few years ago and the dining room was fantastic. Now it is a huge disappointment. Like others said the "rustic" farm table look they are aiming for is so far off the mark. Tables are worn out outdoor tables that look dirty not rustic. Old towels for napkins, etc. For the prices they charge... More

Everything was great! The room was beautiful (hosta). My only complaints were the staff at the front desk. They were sweet kids, but had no training on how or what to do in terms of providing professional service to the guests. We asked for a second room key, twice they gave us the wrong key until finally they said they... More

We should have known that we were entering the realm of the absurd when the appetizers arrived. The tuna consisted of a few pieces that were each literally the size of a quarter. (Didn't cost a quarter though, that's for sure). But the shameless rip off was the "entree". I had ordered Mahi Mahi and was brought a tea saucer... More

We have eaten at the Beach Plum Inn on many occasions - for a romantic dinner, to celebrate my son's wedding, etc. Tonight I was extremely disappointed. In seems that, since last year, they are trying on a new personae or atmosphere - faux rustic. No more white table clothes - now unfinished wood tables, kitchen towels for napkins, jelly... More
