Based on location, name, and reviews we had planned to stay here next month. I couldn't find a website (though was sure I'd seen one last fall) and so I called and learned the sad news. The wonderful couple who own and ran this B&B for 20 years finally took doctor's advice and closed the B&B. He's 87, she's 84... More

Two of the kindest and most REAL people we have ever met! Jack and Mona were truly like going to visit grandma & grandpa! We have stayed in many fine places, and if you are seeking the lap of luxury and no social contact, this is not the place you want to stay. BUT....if you're looking for family friendly and... More

The hosts are a very sweet older couple, Mona and Jack, and they have clearly been doing this b&b thing for 20+ years quite well. But I was quite uncomfortable in Desiderata. I had wanted a homey kind of place, but I never had a home like this: filled with stuff -- far too much. I did not care for... More

The reviews are all accurate in their description. If you're looking for a romantic get-away, this is not the place to go. It is exactly what it says it is.....a bed and a breakfast. There is lots of clutter but it is amazingly clean. Everything in our room was spotless, even the windows. Mona and Jack are a sweet couple;... More

Lovely people, tacky taste. Enter through the laundry room. Sleep in a bedroom decorated with things from the lower end of a good will second hand store. Too much clutter, but clean and definitely friendly. There's a reason that there are no photos on the web page.

Our first impression was like visiting grandma indeed - Mona and Jack were most welcoming and helpful and it was touching to see all the old photos and memories in the house. Our room was not new but spacious and functional. We had lovely chats during breakfast and got lots of advice on what to see and where to go... More

If you're looking for the lap of luxury, look elsewhere. But if you want to "come as you are" to an inviting home-turned-B&B, you'll find it at Desiderata. The innkeepers are attentive and flexible. I visited with my parents, three younger siblings and my toddler, and they were both very kind to all of us. The decor is a mixture... More

A really friendly welcome awaited us. A chance to chat with interesting people over breakfast - a pleasant change from the anonymity of a hotel. A good sized room with very comfortable bed in an attractive house full of character. The only disadvantage is that it is not easily accessible by public transport but, with a car it's about 20...
