I stayed here for 2 nights. My room in the old mansion building was atrocious. I could not stand upright in many parts of the room. The furnishings had the feel of old castaways from my parents' house - summer cottage at its worst. I opened the curtains to enjoy the view of the hills and got a view instead... more

This trip started out a little rocky, but ended up being one of the best local trips I've taken in years. I had planned on going away for Easter Weekend for a spa getaway. I had other options, PA, Long Island, CT, but I had never been to the Berkshires. As a native New Englander, I figured it was about... more

SUMMARY - I booked a night at Cranwell and a spa package for my significant other's birthday. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews that the place would just be full of rich, old, health-fanatics who'd look down on anyone else. While we're far from poor, we're not rich either. In fact, we're about as middle... more

We have been going to the Cranwell for years and have NEVER had anything but a fabulous stay! Additionally, our whole family meets there for their spectacular Thanksgiving feast and it has become a family tradition. Now friends join us as well and our group is steadily growing. The staff are like family and cater to your every whim. Everything... more

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights at the Cranwell, and had a wonderful time. I was concerned, given some of the negative reviews posted on Tripadvisor. We had no negative experiences at all. The place was beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous. Our large room was spotlessly cleaned. All the employees seemed to go out of their way to... more

My boyfriend and I purchased the Romance and Relaxation package and stayed in a suite in the Mansion. The mansion and our suite were beautiful and had an old world charm. We quickly realized that our enjoyment of the resort/spa would mostly depend on our ability to make the most of what Cranwell has to offer. It is very quiet... more

We are repeat visitors to The Cranwell but after our most recent experience (we just returned home today), I just had to write a review. In these tough economic times, it's obvious that The Cranwell is doing all they can to make their guests feel welcome and happy in every way. We stayed with our 3 young children and were... more

My fiance and I just recently came back from an amazing weekend at Cranwell and felt the need to comment. I had previously been on this site and was a little weary about staying here but since the comments were from 2006, I figured I would give it a chance. The grounds were beautiful. Peaceful and perfect. The spa was... more

I wish that prior to our visit I had read the reviews here going back about a year - people who described this place as campus-like and glorified motel were right. I should say that we are not golfers, so perhaps golfing at this place is great. But without golf, it really is a stretch to call this a "resort".... more

Just got back from Cranwell. Golf course is great but the rest of the resort leaves MUCH to be desired. Started with room not being ready as promised, then had directions drawn so WE could bring our own luggage to the correct cottage (no bellman). The rooms are dimly lit. Room service was brought in a plastic shopping bag with... more
