We spent a couple of nights at the end of August at this property. This is a beautiful setting, ver quiet, and actually unpretentious for this type of property. I have stayed at many Relais properties, most of which I really did not overly enjoy, but this was a really nice place to stay. Very good staff who were very... More

The last time that we stayed at Blantyre was in 2010 and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Thus this was a repeat visit and it was better than ever-really one of America's finest (albeit low-key) inns. The "hotel" (actually modelled on a Scottish "hunting lodge") is uniquely eclectic. Staying at Blantyre really brings one back to what it must have... More

In 1969, my husband proposed to me at Blantyre. We returned for the 42nd anniversary of our engagment and had a most superb experience. We were treated like royalty. The food was wonderful, the service genuine and excellent, and the attention to detail was impressive. The rooms and grounds were much as we remembered them. We sat in the solarium... More

We visit Blantyre and Tanglewood every August and it continues to be a wonderful experience. One of the best things is that the staff doesn't change and each time we come, it is like coming to a friends place. Service is superb. Everything is done extremely well. The main building and cottages are all furnished in elegant country style. The... More

25 years ago my wife and I walked across the grounds at Tanglewood in September and noticed champagne corks on the lawn. She looked at me and said , we're coming back to Tanglewood some day in the summer. It took us awhile, but we did so July 4-7, 2014. We hope to return the same dates in 2015. We... More

Once a year in early August I spend a few nights listening to great music at Tanglewood with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and featured artists such as Yo Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax. In the Berkshires the nights are generally cool and there is no better place to stay than the Blantyre with its beautiful estate grounds, first class food... More

The private dining room was lovely. The service was fine but nothing over the top. The wine steward took us on a tour of the caves and was charming and knowledgeable. I felt she was sincere and accommodating . The meal was good but nothing over the top or special for the price. Portions were skimpy for a prix fixe... More

I have spent most of my life in hotels. The first 30 years as a global traveler for government and industry, and the last few as domestic traveler for a major technology firm. I've been everywhere, not just the "good" places. I've stayed in some of the best hotels in the world (not kidding) and also some of the worst... More

We stayed in the Crimson suite over the weekend of 7/26 for our 30th wedding anniversary. The suite is large and bright, and features a balcony perfect for reading and lounging. The staff strive to meet your every wish. The grounds are spacious and well tended. Most important, the Blantyre is quiet and an oasis from the world. Our afternoon... More

Very few establishments in the United States can compare to the Blantyre across all rating categories. The owners make it a point to ensure that your every need it taken care of and you will not find a more respectful or caring staff. The quality can only compare to the finest of the Loire Valley chateaus and that goes for... More
