My partner and I stayed at Blantyre for a weekend, and overall, we had a very enjoyable stay, though there were some service issues with which we weren't too thrilled. And, ultimately, at a price point like this, you're buying service more than a nice bed. We enjoy staying at the Relais & Chateaux association of properties around the world.... More

I had concerns about booking this hotel. The tie thing was an issue. Mr. F hasn’t worn a tie (except for balls, Captain’s dinners and funerals) since he stopped work nearly ten years ago. It isn’t so much the wearing of the tie but the stuffiness it implies. However we do like an upscale hotel and this seemed to be... More

My husband and I decided to take a long weekend getaway . We stayed at the main house in the Crimson Suite in mid august. The room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. The vanity was lovely . And the balcony was perfect for nice weather. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated. Great breakfast choices. We hope... More

Stayed at the Blantyre for 2 nights in the Crimson Suite of the main house. The property was gorgeous, both the grounds and hotel. I felt like I had been transported into a Jane Austen novel. The room was pristine, impeccably decorated and offering every convenience. Every thing is thought of by this property from the champagne upon arrival, the... More

We spent a couple of nights at the end of August at this property. This is a beautiful setting, ver quiet, and actually unpretentious for this type of property. I have stayed at many Relais properties, most of which I really did not overly enjoy, but this was a really nice place to stay. Very good staff who were very... More

The last time that we stayed at Blantyre was in 2010 and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Thus this was a repeat visit and it was better than ever-really one of America's finest (albeit low-key) inns. The "hotel" (actually modelled on a Scottish "hunting lodge") is uniquely eclectic. Staying at Blantyre really brings one back to what it must have... More

In 1969, my husband proposed to me at Blantyre. We returned for the 42nd anniversary of our engagment and had a most superb experience. We were treated like royalty. The food was wonderful, the service genuine and excellent, and the attention to detail was impressive. The rooms and grounds were much as we remembered them. We sat in the solarium... More

We visit Blantyre and Tanglewood every August and it continues to be a wonderful experience. One of the best things is that the staff doesn't change and each time we come, it is like coming to a friends place. Service is superb. Everything is done extremely well. The main building and cottages are all furnished in elegant country style. The... More

25 years ago my wife and I walked across the grounds at Tanglewood in September and noticed champagne corks on the lawn. She looked at me and said , we're coming back to Tanglewood some day in the summer. It took us awhile, but we did so July 4-7, 2014. We hope to return the same dates in 2015. We... More

Once a year in early August I spend a few nights listening to great music at Tanglewood with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and featured artists such as Yo Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax. In the Berkshires the nights are generally cool and there is no better place to stay than the Blantyre with its beautiful estate grounds, first class food... More
