Have you ever dreamed of going to a some long lost rich great uncle's country estate? That's exactly how I felt when I drove through the entrance gates of Blantrye. The grounds are expansive, dotted with open fields, wooded hiking trails, tennis courts turned into a skating rink complete with warming hut. Carriage house, several cottages, "potting shed" ( spa)... More

Have stayed at Blantyre many times over a 15 year period. Each year things deteriorate, but ever so slightly. Most of the rooms could use some updating. Not as far as the decor, English shabby chic, but the carpeting is getting worn and walls need repainting. Given the cost of the rooms, the "shabby" element is unacceptable. I have always... More

A step back in time to where gracious hospitality is expressed through communication, environment, and fine dining. Every room exudes beauty and care. From the artistically arranged fresh flowers, to the gorgeous fabrics and fine furnishings, to the linens in the guest rooms there is not a detail ignored. The staff is truly warm and attentive to your every need.... More

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Blantyre. It was definitely one of the most relaxing weekends we have had in a long time. The staff are wonderful and extremely attentive. The grounds were beautiful, especially when covered in snow, and we were able to walk on well marked trails on the property. We both had massages... More

This remarkable hotel is reserved for those who are seeking a very special experience, not just a place to lay your head at night. The Blantyre is truly an "at your service" property, NOTHING is overlooked. We were kindly greeted by the General Manager, Christopher upon our arrival, where there were no formalities of check-in (no paperwork or credit cards... More

I needed a little end of year getaway - something cozy and luxurious. This was the PERFECT place for that. I have never experienced such pampering and the price was worth it. The entire staff knows who you are. They are constantly anticipating your needs. They remember what you like to eat and drink. The housekeeping gratuity that you pay... More

The Blantyre is a very special place to visit. The staff will bend over backward to make your stay perfect in every way. The breakfast, especially, is wonderful. There is plenty to do in the area, but a car is definitely necessary. Day trips to museums, antique stores, etc. are easy. Tanglewood in the summer is great and the Blantyre... More

Let me start this review by outlining why I think that owning and running a property like Blantyre is a very challenging business. This is a boutique hotel, meaning, it's only got a few rooms. You can look on the website and see how many rooms there are... it's about 20 or 25. It's a "getaway" location, so people are... More

So we stayed here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday, for a room in the outer building and dinner which is required to be prix fixe at this time of year at $125 per head and the 30 percent-ish add-on by the hotel, it was $780 for the one night. We had no alcohol or any other... More
