My wife and I recently attended a wedding nearby and decided to stay at the Cornell Inn. Although the place is beautiful (especially the outside deck that overlooks the pond), I would have to say the ownership was rude and unapproachable My wife and I literally felt like we were bothering the owners by staying at their establishment. The older... more

My girlfriend and I wanted to get away for a few days in April, we love the area so we looked up Inns up there and The Cornell Inn seemed perfect. We called and made reservations for 2 rooms for 3 nights and we had to pay in FULL ahead of time. WE thought nothing of it, now we know... more

2009 will be our 8th year returning to The Cornell Inn in Lenox, Massachusetts to attend Tanglewood concerts and other cultural events. The Inn is exceptionally well-run and well-maintained by proprietors Doug & Billie McLaughlin; rooms are immaculately clean; decor is exquisite; beds are exceeding comfortable with quality sheets and bedding. While the baths are small (after all, this is... more

My husband and I stayed at the Cornell Inn while we were in town for the James Taylor concert. When we arrived we felt immediately unwelcome by the male and female innkeepers. We went inside & stood at the doorway of what we thought was the "front desk" area, in plain view of the woman while she ignored us, then... more

My husband and I love B and B's and at first glance, this is a picture perfect B&B that looks like something out of house and gardens magazine. This establishment is decorated in antiques and has touches of the season all around. After an hour or so of being there, it took on a museum like feel. We were afraid... more

I would like to say that my husband and I stayed in the Anestsia room for our 35th wedding anniversary and were delighted to see that the room was much more beautiful then the picture. We got in later in the afternoon and were quite tired so we stopped at the tavern located on the first floor for a quick... more

We've stayed @ many inns and small hotels throughout the US and Europe, so I know what to expect. The room and grounds were lovely. The hosts, well, I too (like other posters) felt like I was intruding. The room was attractive, but the beds.....well, let's just say I might have been comparably comfortable sleeping on someone's driveway! Location is... more

Should you to try to hitchhike from Boston to the Berkshires for the Tanglewood Festival, should you spend 4 fruitless hours at a dusty tollgate, find out that in spite of Simon and Garfunkel hitching hasn't been de rigeur since the 60s, and arrive in Lenox after dark via a taxi, an emergency pick-up truck, and the back of a... more

We just got back from our visit to Lenox. Ah, the Cornell Inn. What a lovely place: immaculate grounds, charming landscaping, and very conveniently located. The food was also excellent. Oh, and the hospitality... well, that left a little something to be desired. The couple who run it are obviously committed to creating a beautiful environment, but smiles are rare,... more

Bad Policies, from drink to smoke to no kids. If you are young and plan to have fun in the town, I highly recommend not to stay in this Inn. Policies are not mentioned clearly visible on the homepage or reservation page of the website or in the confirmation email. more
