The bed was very comfortable and the breakfest was nicely prepared. the granola and yogert hit the spot (alot of fruit and nuts mixed in). The Phil and Linda were quite helpful in suggesting hikes and offered to lend us mosquito repellent, which really came in handy. more

This spring and summer we have been visited by so many wonderful guests. One of the best parts of being innkeepers in the Berkshires is helping people discover all the things that attracted us to live here. Thank you for your kind comments.

My husband and I had a lovely time at Brook Farm Inn for a weekend this March. The inn is beautifully furnished, very comfortable and well-appointed — with a special literary atmosphere. Our room provided everything one could wish for in an historic country inn, including a fireplace, comfy four-poster bed, plenty of morning light streaming in when we opened... more

We sometimes have vacationing relatives and friends we cannot accommodate in our home near Lenox and we always send them to the historic Brook Farm Inn. They are always pleased with the scrupulously clean and charmingly furnished rooms. The breakfasts are ample and so good we sometimes join them there and are welcomed by the owners. Having afternoon tea in... more

We were planning a romantic four days in the Berkshires. Called and booked the dates getting the room we liked from the site, Garden Veiw. What a beautiful, bright and cheerful room with a good size bath! They must have a wonderful housekeeper for the room was spotless. The assistant innkeeper, Katie was very helpful in directing us and making... more

It is our policy to never enter a guest room after someone has checked in unless it is to perform a requested service (i.e. change a light bulb). Only the housekeeping staff goes into a room for normal servicing and they do not touch the thermostat. Rooms are preheated prior to a guest arriving. We do not turn down the...

My husband and I had a great stay at Brook Farm Inn. Phil and Linda Halpern were gracious hosts who worked hard to ensure that we were comfortable and happy, and to help us find everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Lenox is a beautiful little town, with a great deal to do and see. When we told the... more

What a nice place this is! We’ve stayed here several times and we’ve kept coming back. Each of the rooms in which we have stayed has had a distinctive flavor to it. It has also been of more than adequate size – and the beds are comfortable. The breakfasts are more than ample and we found them both fresh and... more

This inn advertises itself as something very special and prices itself accordingly but experience shows that it is somewhat shabby and stingy in its amenities. Its only redeeming feature is its proximity to the Tanglewood property. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and the breakfast basic. Afternoon tea was nonexistent for those taking in afternoon performances. more

Brook Farm Inn is a beautifully maintained, elegant Victorian home with award-winning gardens. Amenities include two types of soap (bars are double the size of soaps found in Marriotts) shampoo, conditioner, make-up remover, shower caps, hair dryers, clock radios (many with CD players) air conditioning, glasses, ice bucket, extra pillows, extra blankets, oversized bath towels, hand towels and washcloths. Also...

This was our second visit to the Inn and we were really disappointed this time around. While the location is ideal...just minutes from Tanglewood, the inn itself was not up to our expectation. I think it reflects the owners - Phil and Linda's - tight control over costs. First, we had to pay for our entire stay months in advance.... more

As professional innkeepers, we strive for excellence, and suggestions for improvement are always welcome when they are constructive. A large number of guests do return to us on a regular basis, which indicates how many people enjoy our ambiance, friendly service, and food. We're recommended by AAA, and are members of Select Registry and Berkshire Elegant Country Inns, both of...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Brook Farm Inn for a wonderful weekend this July. We loved the location (walking distance from town, and down the road from Tanglewood), the food (breakfasts were amazing!), and the innkeepers. With very short time to appreciate local attractions, Phil and Linda were right on the mark with their suggestions for what to do,... more

Brook Farm Inn management wants to express thanks for such positive comments. We're glad to share our inn, which is also our home, with guests who delight as much as we do in the Berkshires. Our guests of all ages, and from different parts of the USA and the world, make for interesting conversation. It's always a pleasure to provide...

As you can see from the owner's response to the other comments, there is no disagreeing with this person. He is always right. The inn is pretty, very clean and the aforementioned breakfast is fine. But know ahead of time that you are dealing with a person who thinks he can say anything, although he does not know you or... more

The opportunity to provide hospitality to my guests is why I enjoy being an innkeeper. Most guests enjoy friendly conversation, and some others prefer more privacy. All the professional staff members at Brook Farm Inn try to provide what each individual guests prefers. Any comments that were unwelcome to a guest, or comments that were misconstrued, were absolutely unintended. It...
