My husband and I have been coming to The Birchwood Inn for the past 14 years - our favorite weekend get-away from NYC. Lenox, Mass. is the quintessential New England town - with good restaurants, local color, charming shops (no Big Box stores in sight!). This past weekend we joined 9 old friends for an unofficial reunion at the Inn... More

The greatest joy of innkeeping is to welcome friends, old and new, to Birchwood Inn, to Lenox, and to the Berkshires! And some of these friendships date back over six decades! Berkshire mountain highs! More

Old world charm meets modern comfort in this lovely inn. The Birchwood Inn is the oldest house in Lenox but don’t let that scare you off. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. Each room with its own name that is special to the history of the house. I have stayed in three different rooms each with its own charm.... More

It's always our pleasure to welcome you home to Birchwood Inn! The inn's nearly 250 years of history help create an ambience of romance, which The Dana Room's comfortable elegance serves to enhance with its king four-poster bed, wood-burning fireplace, and antique lighting, while the cushy sofa and inviting lounging chaise invite you to relax and enjoy. And enjoy you... More

This B&B is dog friendly (at a price !$). Our room was on the 3rd floor which was a bit hard on our senior Golden. The room was nice. The breakfasts were OUTSTANDING but would have preferred more whole grains and less sugar. Afternoon tea was sweet (double entendre intended) around the big fireplace. The location is terrific for outdoor... More

It's always a pleasure welcome two more beautiful and well-mannered Golden Retrievers and their Golden-loving family! Having two dogs, one being a Golden, I know how much more work it is for our attentive housekeeping staff to make the room fur- and dander-free for the next guest. This is why we, along with hotels and other bed and breakfasts, charge... More

We could not have been made to feel more at home during our stay in this beautiful property. Innkeeper Ellen is charming, helpful and a consummate professional with that rare skill and sense of humor required to truly practice the art of hospitality. Breakfast was personalized upon request and consistently delicious, and there is no topping peaceful time spent by... More

Although it is been unusually Arctic in the Berkshires, happy guests take the chill out of winter. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that we could make it a special one. We hope to see you again soon! More

Nice New England setting .Perfect Lenox location . No choices for breakfast menu but excellent regardless . Could be too sugary for some but tasty and recipes are availble !! "Kiss my grits "was my favorite .Quinn the dog walking around the breakfasts tables and placing her head on your lap makes everything perfect !!

Laura, it was great to welcome you home to Birchwood Inn and to meet your lovely mother. Quinn loved her lap! Please note that even though the menu may not show choices, if you let me know ahead of time, I am always happy whenever possible to accommodate special requests, such as scrambled eggs in place of a sweet breakfast.... This is my first review for TA. In fact I've registered here at TA, specifically to tell you how wonderful the Birchwood Inn is. Simply put - it's wonderful! Terri and Roger are so friendly. Roger makes the best omelets for breakfast, Terri recommended a terrific restaurant for dinner (Alta - must go). If you're visiting Lenox, stay at the... More

We needed to get away for a romantic weekend. I made the reservations, selecting one of the larger rooms with a working fireplace. The room was great, including the large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the fireplace came in handy on our second night. We were both impressed with the size of the library and the selection of books.... More

We stayed at the Birchwood Inn for two nights in very late October. It was our first visit, and we are already looking forward to returning! Terri, the assistant innkeeper, was friendly, energetic, and very helpful with restaurant recommendations. We loved the cider and cookies in the afternoon, served in the beautiful and inviting library. (By the way, the library... More

This is a beautiful, elegant B&B with lots of comfortable common space. I arrived early and was able to see a number of the rooms. They are all beautifully decorated, with exceptionally clean bathrooms. I was attending early morning sessions at Kripalu, so I can't comment on the breakfasts. They do have a small kitchen for guests to make their... More

Our stay at the Birchwood Inn was a pleasant one and it was convenient for the three places we wanted to visit in the Berkshires. Norman Rockwell Museum, The Mount and Hancock Shaker Village. While I am delighted that you found us warm and welcoming, I am sorry that you found your guestroom lacking. Your Carriage House room, one of our most popular rooms, is situated in a rock garden, facing north. While most guests find that cozy, you would have preferred a room with more direct sunlight. Our staff and I could not... More
