Upon arrival, we met Ellen the innkeeper, David, assistant innkeeper, and two wonderful dogs; Piper and Quinn. Quinn greets her guests and is simply adorable. She likes treats. The B&B is charming and totally country style. We first stayed in the Hubbard Room with a great king size bed and a shower that is incredible. The Hubbard Room is in... more

This is my third visit to the Birchwood Inn in Lenox, MA (that is a strong recommendation in itself). Each time, the proprieter, Ellen Chenoux, or her assistant innkeeper, David, has greeted us warmly and welcomed us into this beautifully preserved oldest house in historic Lenox. The hospitality and cordial atmosphere of the inn let you start to relax the... more

Beautiful historic building on the edge of Lenox. Breakfasts were superb and served to suit the vistor. Ellen and David are excellent hosts. Our room on the top floor was a little small but did have a large batchroom. The room did not have a TV or tea making facities however both a TV lounge, refreshment facilities and a library... more

From the moment Ellen greeted us warmly at the front door, we felt right at home at the Birchwood Inn We received a guided tour of the entire inn and its amenities and were then shown to our room. Our room (#10) was spacious, nicely decorated, and most comfortable. Quinn and Piper, the Inn's wonderfully well-behaved resident canines, made us... more

Having stayed at a number of places in the Berkshires, including Blantyre and Wheatleigh, I can honestly say the Birchwood Inn is my favorite. Each time I return, Ellen makes me feel as though I'm coming home. Her attention to detail is impeccable (I love the "makeup" washcloths!) and breakfast is not to be missed....Chocolate French Toast on my last... more

The Birchwood absolutely lived up to its reviews. Proprietor and staff were great and the breakfasts were, as promised, delightful. There is also a late afternoon tea not to be missed. The digs were a welcome addition. Our room was spacious and airy; outside were a roomy verandah and a lovely garden at the back. We greatly enjoyed some of... more

Spent a fabulous weekend at a mini-reunion with childhood friends at this award-winning bed and breakfast. Couldn't have been any better--Ellen's attention to details in the breakfasts, in the outstanding service, in the beautiful rooms! The town is charming and within walking distance to unique shops, excellent restaurants, historic homes and museums. I love the Birchwood Inn! more
