Applegate Inn is fantastic. My husband and I are hiking the Appalachian Trail in sections and staying in B and B's along the way. Within minutes of the Mass turnpike, across form a golf course, in beautifully appointed gardens is this lovely inn. It is situated between Tanglewood (14 minutes, 6 miles) , Shakespear and Company and the Berkshire and Main Stage Theaters (7 minutes, 3 miles). Everything was perfect. Our room (#7) was very large and comfortable, great fireplace, private balcony, awesome soaking tub looking out over the grounds, and two-person shower. The breakfasts were outstanding as were the wine and cheese at 5 pm daily. Our hosts were very gracious and most helpful with restaurant selection.
