Had a great weekend at the Applegate. It is so quiet and relaxing. We've been to other inns and had great weekends, this one is being added to the list of great places to stay. We had Room #9, felt like we were alone! If you are looking for comfort, privacy and romance, this is the room! The inn is... more

Applegate Inn is fantastic. My husband and I are hiking the Appalachian Trail in sections and staying in B and B's along the way. We recently stayed 3 nights at the Applegate Inn and could not have been more pleased. We felt at home immediately. The wine and cheese at 5p.m. was a great opportunity to meet the other guests.... more

We had a wonderful, relaxing and romantic stay at The Applegate Inn. Lisa who checked us in was magnificent! We were only disappointed in the "buffet" breakfasts. The website explains a hot entree to be served as well as the buffet food, however, if you are expecting to be served a hot entree, that is not what happens. I was... more

We stayed at The Applegate for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the charm of the common rooms, the warmth and graciousness of the owners Len and Gloria, the way-too-large-and-delicious breakfasts and the peacefulness of the surroundings. Our room was comfortable with a small flat-screen TV, 2 comfortable easy chairs and a queen-size 4-poster canopy bed. An extra plus is freshly-baked... more

We stayed in room #8 from Friday, Oct 3rd and left on Sunday Oct 5th. The room was simply beautiful. The bathroom with the two-person jacuzzi and candles was so relaxing and romantic. The 5pm wine and cheese was great. The innkeepers recommended restaurants, hikes and even made reservations for us. They were very sociable and pleasant. We found the... more

Within minutes of the Mass turnpike, across form a golf course, in beautifully appointed gardens is this lovely inn. It is situated between Tanglewood (14 minutes, 6 miles) , Shakespear and Company and the Berkshire and Main Stage Theaters (7 minutes, 3 miles). We loved the Berkshire and Norman Rockwell Museums and the Holsten Gallery. This beautiful and gentile establishment... more

Everything was perfect. Our room (#7) was very large and comfortable, great fireplace, private balcony, awesome soaking tub looking out over the grounds, and two-person shower. The breakfasts were outstanding as were the wine and cheese at 5 pm daily. Our hosts were very gracious and most helpful with restaurant selection. We must recommend that you check out Trattoria Rustica.... more

The owners are lovely people and very helpful. They provided us with useful info and great restaurants. We have stayed in many Bed and Breakfasts before and we were disappointed with our room and the general condition of the inn. The steps upon entering the building are broken and dangerous. Our room was dusty, and rather small. The bed was... more
