We spent just one Sunday night at the Inn at Castle Hill on July 13, 2014. We could not have picked a more perfect place to indulge in a romantic, serene, cozy night away near the beach. The inn itself is beautiful and located on the gorgeous grounds of The Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA. There are gorgeous views of... More

I need to get out of the city once in a while and I like it to be easy. I need sun and sand and nature and ease of human contact when I do this. I got just that and more at the Inn. A gracious, helpful, non intrusive welcome greeted me when I checked in with a sincerity that... More

The inn is a fabulous and special escape on the North Shore. It's peaceful, elegant and even smells great. The service is what you want it to be, helpful, competent, but never imposing. Tastefully decorated rooms each with their own character and charm. Waking up to breakfast at the inn and storing homemade cookies in the pantry makes you feel... More

The Inn at Castle Hill is in a truly magical location close to Crane's Beach and overlooking the salt marshes. Our room was elegant, spotless and very, very quiet -- it made for a very good night's sleep. That, and the wonderful linens!

Bad experience overall - made reservation one year in advance and prepaid - call three times prior to arrival to make sure everything was okay and prepayment received. Always got a yes. Upon arrival asked for credit card and I said it was prepayed and they said yes it was for incidentals - after I left they charged my card... More

I’m truly sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay, and clearly there was miscommunication about our rates and policies. In order to ensure our guests are aware of our rates and billing policies, we do send out an email confirmation and have all our guests sign a registration at check-in that clearly states the room rate and policies.... Ipswich, a suburb of Boston, is the home of Crane Beach, a remarkable, long, wide, sandy beach that is a popular swimming spot in warmer months and a fabulous place to walk in cooler ones. The Inn at Castle Hill is a pleasant old inn less than a mile from the Beach entrance, with glorious salt marshes around most of... More

What a great place to stay and explore the area. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived by Camille, the Asst. Innkeeper. We stayed in the Winthrop Room on the second floor in the corner. It's well decorated, light and has a gorgeous view of the marsh and ocean. We took many beautiful walks around the huge... More

My wife surprised me with a weekend reservation for our wedding anniversary this past July. We spent Friday and Saturday night at the Inn, eating breakfast at the Inn and taking dinner in Ipswich. We had an "estate view" out of the windows (not an ocean view) but since we spent most of our time out of our room, it... More

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for a Friday and Saturday for my sons wedding in early June. You must stay for two nights minimum. It was quite expensive but the building is beautiful and the wall murals are stunning. The Winthrop Room was very comfortable, bedding was terrific, bathroom very roomy and the views lovely. Breakfast was... More

I am in the hospitality Industry so I have to admit that I am extremely fussy and difficult to please. I notice the most obscure details as they glare out at me. I have to say that The Inn at Castle Hill exceeded all my expectations on every level. The service is exemplary, and you are greeted with warmth and... More
