My husband and I truly liked this B&B, we spent one night only so we picked up one of the smallest room: Chestnut. It was small but comfortable, the bathroom was spectacular. There’s a Japanese touch all around the B&B, which makes it unique. Breakfast was superlicious ;), with a wide choice. The hosts offer also a Japanese breakfast, we... More

Looking for an easy place to stay overnight on a road trip from Miami to Maine, and wanting to be near one of our favorite dinner spots-- the Clam Box of Ipswich, this quaint B&B looked like it would be a good choice. Turns out it was a great choice! Unexpected in this historic New England house, the owners have... More

We only live about 30 miles away but booked Kaede for a post night out with friends in Ipswich (dinner reunion at Salt, a few hundred feet away and scrumptious). Great, cozy location. Extremely clean and very comfortable bed. Nice price. Thank you Jason for the hospitality!

I took a business road trip to see as many B&B's as I could in 10 days and Kaede's was one of my favorites. My sister and I had tried to stay in Salem around Halloween but did not have the greatest experience so we forged on a little further and so glad we did. We broke two cardinal rules... More

The inn is decorated with various artifacts ( scrolls, dolls, fans, shoe cubbies, Boy's day display) from owner Mikako's native country, Japan. This is her husband Jason's adopted country , as well. 5 breakfast choices are offered on MIkako's rustic pottery as well as an Americanized version of a Japanese breakfast ( except for the authentic miso soup). The patter... More

Kaede is a wonderful B&B with a unique atmosphere in the heart of Ipswich in easy walking distance of the downtown area and restaurants. Jason and Mikako were wonderful hosts - friendly and helpful. The home is unique with its Japanese influence - quiet, clean, and comfortable. This is a place I would certainly return to if I go to... More

My husband and I rarely stay in B&Bs - wary of forced socializing and too many doilies - but Kaede intrigued us when we perused the website. Sure enough, it was a gem. Jason and Mikako were down-to-earth, friendly, non-intrusive and helpful when we asked for pointers re: restaurants and sites. The home is beautifully restored, (without losing any of... More

Right in the heart of Ipswich, a beautiful and history-filled New England town, this Bed & Breakfast offers a fantastic location- only minutes from beaches, great restaurants, parks, hiking, biking, and historic attractions. And, Kaede is absolutely unique! The owners have put a lot of care into the vintage New England property, and bring their own personality to the unusual... More

I stayed here in July for one night with my boyfriend on a weekend trip through Ipswich and Rockport, MA. We found the place through Trip Advisor, and we were intrigued by the atmosphere of the place. In reality it was even better than our expectations. The room that we had at the top of the stairs was the only... More

My wife and I arrived to this little gem on a roadtrip. We booked one day in advance, we was met with smiles, lots of great advice about the area and a great level of service. The rooms were really nice but the best was Jason, Makiko and Asuka who just took us in and treated as fantastically.
