We are coming to Hyannis with our dog to spend Thanksgiving and found Simmons Homestead Inn, to stay for three nights. I guess that this Inn is being advertised as historical place so we are not expecting much from the rooms. On another hand we are not expecting that all rooms would not have locks! To be fair, our Bird... More

This is tough one to answer. Use the microwave to warm up food like sausages, ham, homemade bread and such. Warming meats and such use newspaper to absorb any excess fats. Usually have a small paper towel on top, thought I did that morning. AS to brown toast. It was cinnamon raisin french toast pan toasted with an egg-cinnamon batter... More

it's a bit cluttered, the food isn't gourmet, the fixtures aren't the newest, but man oh many is it comfortable, welcoming, and friendly! Just got home from our 6th stay at the Simmons Homestead and we always leave trying to figure out when we can return. Bill is a great host (and April fills in admirably when he isn't around).... And .... it's folks like you two that help make it feel homey, comfortable and relaxing. After all, that's what we want and why you keep coming back and back. Thanks, and a mug will be set up this year :-) More

We came here with our small dog, and it is very dog friendly. If you don't like dogs, that might be an issue -- while dogs don't run amok, even well behaved ones will sometimes decide to "discuss" territory at any hour. Bill the Innkeeper is a friendly eccentric, and it shows throughout the property. There are various signs throughput... More

Knowing the area and it's history makes the experience much richer. Bill, the host and inn keeper, is very willing to share his home (amazing decor) and experiences from where to go to when (to catch the ferry to Nantucket, the show at the nearby Hyannis Melody Tent, beaches and local restaurants). He's curated at great list of menus and... More

This place is very close to the center of town where the shopping and restaurants are but, unlike what you may be told when you get there or on the phone, it is NOT close to walking distance to the beach. You basically have to drive to a beach and pay $15.00, for as long as you stay that day.... More

A uniquely wonderful Inn. They not only accomodated 3 large dogs, they walked them and cared for them while we were out. The "where to eat and play" advice alone was worth staying there for. It's a combination of a vintage british car museum, an ecclectic collectables museum, and a fine old rambling New England Inn. Long after you forget... More

I have mixed feelings about this B&B: Strong points: Bill, the owner, is full of information and shares it freely, gives you coupons, etc You get a welcome drink in the evening The room was clean, the bed was good, we slept well Central location to visit the islands Ok: The breakfast is ok, fresh made, and you get seconds... Simmons Homestead Inn in Hyannis port is a great central location to see all of the Capes sights and attractions. The Inn is a very comfortable home away from home . Bill Putman the man at the helm is very knowledgeable not only on the sights and sounds in Cape Cod but also in Main , New Hampshire and surrounding... More

Title is pretty self explanatory and could be good or bad depending on what your expectations and preferences are. The positives: very nice thoughtful touches like providing toiletries if you forgot yours at home, free beverages regularly available, mini guest fridges in the dining room if you need to store any food or drinks, free wifi, dog friendly with plenty...
