We stayed 4 nights in April 2015. It was charming and wonderful. The decor is sort of golds and russets--very warm. It's an old colonial-style farmhouse, but is very solidly built (or possibly reinforced by the hosts) so there aren't the usual creaks and carrying noise that one often gets in the older New England buildings. It was chilly enough... More

We were fortunate to travel with extended family to the House on the Hill, and in doing so we took three rooms which meant we had the entire house to ourselves. It was the perfect getaway. Donna and Alain are extremely gracious hosts, very comfortably letting us "take over" with five adults and three kids. We brought in 'takeout' Chinese... More

Every aspect of this charming B&B is worthy of superlatives, location, tasteful furnishings, delicious breakfasts, using locally sourced and fresh ingredients and comfortable beds, but it is the attention to detail and the way Donna and Alain treat their guests with love and thoughtfulness which is worthy of an Oscar.

We stayed at House on The Hill over the weekend and Donna and Alain were wonderful hosts. Very comfortably-appointed, it felt like home only better:) It was super laid-back and the bed was soft and cozy, lots of pillows, delish breakfast, everything that one would want a B&B to be. Working in hospitality I am much more familiar with hotels... More

We just returned from an overnight stay at The House on the Hill. It is in an ideal location from which to explore the beauty and culture of Franklin and Hampshire Counties. The house is beautifully restored and appointed with comfortable furniture and beds. The walls are decorated with art by locals, and the breakfast is delicious. Donna and Alain... More

We highly recommend this peaceful bed and breakfast. The hosts, Donna and Alain, will make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Situated overlooking the vast countryside, The House on the Hill is also a great location for day trips to Amherst, North Hampton area. If you're arriving during the holidays ( or really anytime of the... More

The House on the Hill is a lovely place. Donna was so accommodating, going far beyond by doing laundry after something spilled in our luggage! She also greeted us with an amazing breakfast daily, was so informative about the area, & thoughtful about the little things. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back again.

Although we are not usually "bed & breakfast" people, we decided to take a chance on this location. We were so happy that we did. The place was adorable, scrupulously clean and nicely appointed with vintage furniture and décor. Breakfast was fresh, abundant and delicious:) Would absolutely recommend this place to friends.

If you are like me and enjoy B&Bs that are luxurious but not over the top and really feel like home, then you will agree with me that House of the Hill in Greenfield is the best B&B in New England. Donna thinks of every detail. The rooms are spacious, well lighted, with big comfortable beds, soft linens, and bathrooms... More
