My wife and I enjoyed this motel. My wife was in the area for the birth of our grand daughter. I came up for the weekend. When trying to locate a hotel the prices were very expensive (over $200) this was way under. Hasu was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable and very spacious compared to... more

My husband and I had been on vacation for a week and decided to take a chance on a place to stay on the way home. We drove through Great Barrington checking out the motels and the Lantern House was by far the most appealing at roadside glance. Lovely pines and landscaping made a nice barrier from the Route 7... more

We stayed at the Lantern House Motel for a long, holiday weekend of skiing at Butternut Mountain with family and friends. We did not experience any problems at all with any of the staff. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and some recent updates (tv, bathroom, etc. depending on your room). Each room has its own mini-fridge which is... more

We have been to the Lantern House before and liked it quite a bit - which is why this is difficult to write. This year we went back with some friends. Everything was fine until Monday when we left. We had requested, and were granted, a late check out. While getting packed, our friends in the next room got frquent... more

This was our first stay at the Lantern House Inn. I booked the room over the phone, through the motel owner, Hasu. He gave us a very good price for two rooms (rooms 3 & 4) and was extremely accommodating and welcoming to us. He went out of his way to make sure our room were next door to each... more

We had been hiking on the Appalachian Trail and decided to treat ourselves to a night off the trail. Unfortunately we picked this one. Beware of the holes in the wall that allow you to see into other rooms as well as for others to see into yours. Especially if you are in rooms 1 & 2. We left that... more

We were late booking for a summer weekend in the Berkshires when there were two music festivals in the area, including a large folk festival. Most properties were fully booked, and the few with vacancies were charging top rates. The chain motels in the area all had mixed reviews. I happened upon the Lantern House's website and was impressed. The... more

Hasu was very accommodating when we had to change our plans and called us to confirm. He is very proud of all the positive renovations, showing us the new furniture and fabric selections. The king sized bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have experienced in a long time. Great water pressure and loads of hot water.... more
