stayed here with some friends a couple of weeks ago and I must say what a fabulous spot! Makes you want to stay longer, and think about reasons to come back. Our hosts were warm and friendly, thanks for a short but sweet stay. Making this old motel into a creatively restored bed and breakfast....sheer brilliance! Highly recommend it! Breakfast... More

Had a really great stay at The Briarcliff. The owners took what was undoubtedly a run down 1960s era strip motel, modernized it and made it really cool and interesting. Eclectic and rustic touches abound, adding to a warm and comfortable ambiance. Owners and staff could not have been more accommodating or friendly. We actually had a prior last minute... More

My wife and I just stayed there for a night after a day skiing Butternut. All of the staff were genuinely nice and seemed to really want us to have a great time during our stay. For breakfast Clare made the most ridiculously delicious scones...and I'm not a scone person. We asked her for some neat places to check out... More

Pretty much free room service, no tips necessary. We only stayed for one night and had to leave at 6 am the next morning before their free breakfast opens at 7:30am. My bf and I were discussing how sad we were that we're missing breakfast and trying to figure out where to get coffee and breakfast that early and not... More

I've stayed here several times over the past few months and every time has been a wonderful nights sleep, followed by the best local yogurt with Richard's Granola for breakfast. Then along comes the scent of Clare's fresh baked Scones and I suddenly need a second cup of tea. This motel is a real find.

I have to say I enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek 50s motel decor experienced in the last weekend of jam-early Feb. We also enjoyed the convenience of the self-serve breakfast--simple and scrumptious, all locally sourced etc. :) Lovely hosts. The best of privacy of a motel and friendliness of a b&b. Pretty close to town but not right in town. Loved it... More

We spent the recent long weekend at the Briarcliff Motel and found it to be a great little motel, with lots of charm. The rooms are small, but extremely clean. We had a family of 4 stay comfortably. The breakfast is simple, but delicious. There were fresh homemade scones and muffins or breads each day, along with fresh fruit, granola,... More

My wife and I and our 3 children stayed for 3 nights during the ski season. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious. The owners and staff are incredibly helpful, warm, and friendly. We have stayed in the berkshires before, and this is, by far, the best experience we have had. I highly recommend the Briarcliff Motel.

A quirky motel set in a lovely area of New England. The rooms are designed in a retro style and are clean and well decorated. Breakfast was a cold buffet style but featured nice home-cooked produce. Definitely worth a visit.

pros clean nicely decorated but some wall paper peeling made the room well close to ski butternut cons we had room #1 which was too far to get wifi very dark room, not enough lights (2 small lamps to light the whole room) breakfast can be improved, a waffle maker can help with kids, for adults, it was OK, coffee... It's always disappointing when people think what you're doing is only 'OK', but one thing that motel life has taught us is that you can try as hard as you can - and we do - but you can't please everybody. One man's french-press locally-roasted coffee is another man's drip-machine Donut Shop Blend. A couple of points of fact though:... More
