We loved everything about this place. Beautiful historic house, spectacular view, delicious breakfasts. Didn't notice any musty smell. Only the smell of the sea on the veranda and the sound of the surf. We walked the boulevard along the harbor at sunset. The sky and water were luminescent. So lovely.

We really loved everything about the Hovey House in Gloucester, MA. The owner of the B & B, Jane was most accomodating, very friendly and very knowledgeable. The view from the front porch is stunning. It is wonderful to wake up and walk outside to sit on the porch with a freshly prepared and most tasty breakfast.

The grounds, views and rooms were beautiful. We could not get past the musty smell in the foyer area. We received a tour of the rooms and bathroom prior to giving our credit card information. The B&B looked nothing like the photos on the website. It was in such a state of decay and disrepair we left after 5 minutes of total disbelief. We had to scramble to find alternate accommodations 40 miles away. Stay away....far away.
