We loved everything about this place. Beautiful historic house, spectacular view, delicious breakfasts. Didn't notice any musty smell. Only the smell of the sea on the veranda and the sound of the surf. We walked the boulevard along the harbor at sunset. The sky and water were luminescent. So lovely. More

We really loved everything about the Hovey House in Gloucester, MA. The owner of the B & B, Jane was most accomodating, very friendly and very knowledgeable. The view from the front porch is stunning. It is wonderful to wake up and walk outside to sit on the porch with a freshly prepared and most tasty breakfast. More

The grounds, views and rooms were beautiful. We could not get past the musty smell in the foyer area. We received a tour of the rooms and bathroom prior to giving our credit card information. The entire house was very clean. We could not take a chance due to our family's allergies and asthma. We decided not to stay. Jane... More

This was a surprise birthday gift from my daughters. They made all of the arrangements with Jane. We were given the brochure and off we went. We spent the day on a whale watch (7 Seas whale watch also highly recommend). We actually arrived a few hours later than expected but Jane very graciously showed us her house with great... More

My partner and I have stayed at the Hovey House twice and loved it both times. As we were preparing to leave this last time, we went back for our luggage and overheard a conversation between the owner and one of the arriving guests. A woman was standing in the hall loudly complaining that the place looked nothing like the... More

The B&B looked nothing like the photos on the website. It was in such a state of decay and disrepair we left after 5 minutes of total disbelief. We had to scramble to find alternate accommodations 40 miles away. Stay away....far away. More

We had a great time at the Hovey House. I was taken away by its Charm. It is truly a well kept secret nestled in the New England fishing town of Gloucouster , Mass. Fortunately we found this Bed &Breakfast place on the internet and our friends ( total of 3 couples ) thought it would be the perfect place... More

My husband and I have stayed in many bed and breakfasts over the years and we decided this was our favorite. We wanted something romantic for our 10th anniversary. The antique house is beautiful and immaculate with lovely period furnishings that look like they're original to the house. When we turned in the driveway we were greeted by an opening... More

WHAT A SPOT! This place is totally awesome. My boyfriend and I stayed for a weekend in early spring, just when the gardens were coming into bloom -- daffodils and tulips everywhere! The house is gorgeous. The furnishings are lovely. The place is immaculate. The breakfasts were yummy. The view, fabulous. Sparkling ocean, green lawn, blue sky, puffy clouds, sunshine... More

Stayed for one night at this B&B. When we arrived we were impressed with the grounds and the view is spectacular. The room we were initially given was not to our liking (no bathroom in room) so requested and got another room with a beautiful view of Gloucester Harbor. However it was not made up. When we came back to... More
